So, I've been sick and my mom gave me mucinex. She told me to take one every 4 hours. I took one at 8 am, and another at 12 pm. During dinner I felt a bit better, and got up and around the house. I decided to read the medicine box for fun, and noticed it said take one every 12 hours!!!

I feel fine right now, but am a bit worried something could happen since I just took the equivalent of a days worth of medicine in 4 hours : <

First off, why are you taking mucinex for a flu or cold?

As far as you being worried, it's highly unlikely anything will happen by taking an extra dose. So relax.

Disclaimer: obviously, if you notice anything particularly out of the ordinary, go to the hospital. But I highly doubt this will be necessary.

One of my friends overdosed on guaifenesin one time; He didn't last very long, but I'm sure this varies case by case.

dont worry its harmless....

its like taking the 24 hour tabs...

also why mucinex... not the best medicine to take if you have cold and flu unless in your case its probably just a severe allergy...
