NICE!!!! Glad for him. He got rail roaded by the league. Now they can eat it!
![]() It's NOT about disrespect of our flag. It's about protesting a belief or matter that meant something to him. That by the way was suggested and supported by a veteran. I'm all up for discussing the judgment against the NFL and or the amount. And his ability to play the game. Won't engage in political debate though. https://247sports.com/nfl/dallas-cow...NFL-129142821/

Maybe Tim Tebow should have sued as well since he was essentially black balled from the league. Guess he has a higher standard.

Let's be realistic here. 1) He opted out of his contract with the 49ers in March of 2017, a parting that was inevitable given the expectation the 49ers would have released him had he remained with the team. 2) NFL teams haven't shown much interest in Kaepernick's services since his last days with the 49ers. The Ravens took a look in Kaepernick's direction in the summer of 2017, while Seahawks reportedly kicked the tires in April of 2018, but by and large things have remained mostly quiet in terms of his chances of finding an NFL team. 3) This is almost certainly a decision by the NFL to just shut him up, shut down the ongoing confrontations, and move on to playing football and making the NFL money. I don't think there were any 'winners' in this whole debacle. It appears now, with the confidentiality agreement, that this is now done, sold, buttoned up, and closed down. Good. Enough with politics pushed into my football - let's just all get back to watching the games. ![]()

Yep - I agree he shouldn't have received a dime, however, it is what it is. We can cry all we want about it being unjust, but he is the one with the million dollar checks. Regardless, I despise everything he stood for, but at least this resolves getting him out of the news and off of the commentary around the games.

anyone who is claiming victory for Kaep, or the NFL for that matter, has no idea how the legal system works.
The entire process is aimed at settlement vs court time. The NFL im sure had things that didnt want to get out in open court that probably have nothing to do with Kaep, but more to do with how the league is ran and handled, and Kaep was fighting a huge uphill battle to prove collusion and im sure his lawyers knew it. Based on this whole spectacle, Kaep wouldnt have signed an NDA if he had any bargaining chips. The thing is, Kaep could have been in the NFL if he wasnt demanding starting qb money (see his Denver Broncos offer and subsequent debacle) and he could be playing football in one of the other leagues if he truly just wanted to play (CFL, AAFL both expressed interest but he turned them down). Now a days, teams arent putting up with BS for guys that arent elite. Look at what happened with Dez. He wasnt on a team until late in the season for the saints. Even Kareem Hunt, arguably one of the top HBs, on a team with SB sights that needed his talents, wasnt immune to getting bounced out for awhile for screwing up.

If we put this into perspective (and scale it down)...
You're statement is perfectly in line with how "his kind" operates. Please DO NOT ask me to elaborate.

No one signed him because hes a mediocre qb that brings a ton of negative attention, regardless of what "his cause" was/is. And quite frankly, I don't care what your cause is, save it for another time and place. And veteran's support it not because they AGREE with him but because they FOUGHT for his RIGHT to do so. Thats a big difference. So your statement about veterans supporting it tells 1/2 the narrative.

This is such an emotion-driven topic that it blows my mind.
I don't see how any respectable, mature individual can support him. His career was in shambles right before he pulled this. I 100% feel it was done for attention. Listen, if you want support for your cause; then insulting those with opposing views [who are paying your paycheck] won't do jack shit for you. There's a time, place, and mature way of going about things. He lost all credibility with the pig socks and uninformed comments about Fidel Castro. It showed how little knowledge he had on this topic. Not to mention he was raised by a white family and enjoyed the f*ck out of the capitalist American lifestyle before all this. Dude did Jaguar F-type promotions way back. I hate to sound judgmental but his supporters just seem like the type of left-wing sheep who blindly support any left-wing cause. Thanks to social media misinformation spreads like wildfire and people cheer for their political agendas like sports teams thanks to the groupthink effect. People are so mindless, stop falling into these traps, you know who you are. People on the far extremes of both political ideologies are cut from the same cloth! |

WSJ reporting $10M total for Kaepernick and Reid. That’s a lot of money to all of us but nowhere near $60M - $80M, if accurate. He would have been better off not opting out of his contract with the Niners.
Since the Fins didn’t sign him (thankfully) after cutting Tannehill I fully expect he is done playing in the NFL. Meanwhile some who supported him now think he is a sellout for settling.

I don’t think the Cuban American community in Miami would approve a signing of a player that wears Fidel Castro t-shirts to press conferences.

I think there are portions of the population just about everywhere east of CA that would disapprove of their team signing him. Older and middle aged Cubans wouldn’t be happy but the younger Cuban voters are trending more liberal and both Miami-Dade and Broward counties are strong blue counties overall. I’m sure he has plenty of sympathizers in the area. The HC and GM are both African American and the Dolphins had no QB on the roster with starting experience when they cut Tannehill. Personally, I think he’d be more of an overpaid sideshow / distraction than QB but there was clearly a need for a QB. Yet there are no indications he was a serious consideration. I think he’s done.
