I've only ridden in Teslas, but there was no lack of acceleration capability. We were mainly on city street, so I have no idea what a slalom course would be like.
I feel like I have to defend the i3 because it's such a great car. I'm on my second, and I even got to enjoy the looks. Even I have to admit though, it's not universally appealing, but if the Tesla 3 is what appeals to everyone, then IMHO that's just boring. I'd rather have a variety of styles and designs on the road like the uglyduckling i3 than an army of black Tesla 3s. I bet in 10 years time the i3 is going to be looked at as a strange yet forward thinking experiment that, besides inferior battery range, was ahead of its time.

I would never do this. But I'm old school. These young people find a cause and are willing to back them with more than talk, but action and apparently their own pay. Naive? Maybe. But I'm relatively cynical now that I'm well past my idealistic twenty's. If they are willing to put their money where their mouth is, I can't really knock them for that kind of dedication. Is musk laughing all the way to the bank? Probably, but some people believe that the success of Tesla will be a net positive for not just Musk, but it's customers, stock holders, and the public who take advantage of a more diverse and competitive market.

Once again I have underestimated Musk and the Tesla brand. I should have bought at 190.

It has greatly underperformed the S&P over the last 4yrs and is just moving up with the market. Too great a risk for mkt performance, educate yourself before throwing away your money.

I've already made a good deal on my trades with TSLA in the past based on its volatility. How it performs in the long term is not how I buy this stock. I missed the last ride simply because I took the chicken littles too seriously this time around!

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. You guys are looking at this the wrong way. We should want Tesla to succeed basically because the ride can net a lot of gain both for the industry and as individuals. Don't be so short sighted. Do I want to see TSLA at $100? Sure do. But then I want it to back up to $150. Name the last stock that was so consistent in its volatility?

I agree here but if you do your correlations you can make the same from SPY volatility with far less risk. All I'm saying is I'd be far more comfortable holding SPY long term if I got caught in a down draft than holding TSLA on a company/Musk specific issue that they may never recover from. To each his own I guess.

First off who are "they"?

Secondly I hate to see any company fail and hope Tesla makes it big but one has to be realistic here when looking at the numbers.

Thirdly I have no animosity towards California, it has its pluses and minuses just like any state (but better weather and women of course).
