Given some of the opportunities they have had with the tweets in OPE applications, it will be interesting on how they perform in automotive situations

I can just see it... every 10 miles some other driver will pull up along side you frantically pointing at your tires like something is wrong.
Last time I checked, rubber is heavier than air. It looks like the rubber support structure takes up about 80% of the tire's air space. They'll add some serious unsprung weight.

In term of weight, you exchange the sidewall for these inner ribs. Looks like the ribs are going to be heavier, but maybe not that much more so given that the sidewall must be steel-belt reinforced to endure the abuse of lateral flexing in corners. |

I suspect it will ride very similarly to crappy Bridgestone run flats.

Along the lines I was thinking too, although I was closer to 800 mmHg.
Seriously though, I wonder how these would react to turning and cornering forces, the shoulder seems so small. I would imagine that the side of the tire might end up folding onto itself and collapsing with hard cornering/turning forces. |

No, they were designed for the i3, but it ran short in testing...

Let me see, when is the last time I had a flat or a tire failure? Oh yeah, like I think Reagan was president. I will stick with air in my tires, Bob.

Interesting development in the tyre space - have seen something similar a few years ago for construction/farming use, but this is quite significant I think for cars if it comes to being.
