I agree with your sentiment. It's going to get worse. The day my classmate was shot, 7 LEO's (…from various agencies) operating on a task force out of my station were shot at.

I'll definitely tell him. He's feeling lonely at the moment. The hospital won't even allow anybody to see him because of COVID. So fucking ridiculous!

While in a Baskin Robbins today, these 5-year old twin boys ran into the establishment and exclaimed, "Hiiiii Mr. Cop"……while giving me hugs. I had to snap a few photos with them and post one here. You can tell by their behavior how they are being raised, and it's nice to witness the results of good parenting demonstrated by the behavior of the children.

I didn't! The father bought a birthday cake for the daughter who turned 7 years old that day. The day before, an attractive teacher paid for my WabaGrill. She had just had her nose pierced. Apparently it was a YOLO birthday moment she shared with her daughter who also got a piercing. The daughter walked in and she was a ze/zer/xer/Hades/Nemo/etc. pronoun. Sigh!

I would say that verbiage mainly applies to arrests involving serious crimes that weren't observed by a law enforcement official or witness. You always have that right, but remaining silent isn't going to make a difference under most circumstances. Miranda applies to interrogation.

If it were a perfect world with plenty of opportunity, I would love to eat ………………...….

The second day in a row that I've experienced a solid family interaction. This interaction occurred at T.G.I.Friday's. The kids asked me for stickers, but a cursory search of my grab-bag revealed that I didn't have any to give. They were so well behaved. This, coming after leaving the hospital from checking on my vehicular assault victim who may not make it. Ughhh!

I hope we catch the gang member responsible.

Unlikely, but the victim is in really bad condition. I did my due diligence, so at this point it's on the D.A.'s office should my victim die and Gascon fail to file charges.

Assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle) is what the suspect(s) will be charged with.

The suspect drove away at a high rate of speed with the victim on the hood, stopped abruptly to cause the victim to go airborne approximately 15-20' before hitting the asphalt, and then hitting him as they fled the scene. The victim has a subdural hematoma, facial lacerations and some other injuries. The victim is in bad shape.

He's not wrong. My station deals with multiple car jackings a day; today we had two (….one due to leaving a car running while unoccupied).

It's an offence in Ontario to leave a car running unattended under the HTA and most municipalities also have by-laws that prohibit idling your car for longer than 1 min. to reduce GHG emissions. That gets ignored a lot in the cold winter and very hot summer months with remote starters.
