2001 740i Sport overhaul/upgrade
Black on black with 150,000 miles. The "Baroness." Georgia coast, Jekyll Island.
I had decided to buy a new car and either trade in or sell this one. But, none of the cars I looked at spoke to me like this car does. I just kept coming back to it. Nothing I saw motivated me to change cars. So, rather than buy, I want to upgrade and overhaul her. Plenty of area garages and body shops that could do the basic work. Problem is that I don't know what's possible for the electronics - entertainment systems. In the perfect world, I want to upgrade to include XM/Sirius, voice activation, blue tooth sync, rear camera, blind spot warning, and upgrade the navigation system If any/all of that is possible, then where can I get it done? Help! Please! |

Last year of that body style. Don't care at all for the current.
I hope I can make her what I want so I can keep her for a few more years. |

Not really know the name, but there is a head unit that replaces the stock one and it has modern features. I see it once in a while. If you want bluetooth calls and streaming I'm sure there are easy ways. That 7 will always be a classic. I regret not buying one over a 300ZX with major problems

I LOVE the e38. It it was financially practical for me to own one, I would. My dad had a 1999 740i. He loved that car so much. I much preferred the Sport model. He had a shot at one years ago for ~$20K with under 30K on it and passed it up. He kicks himself everyday, years later, for not jumping on it. If you can find a good custom ICE shop near you, the sky's the limit. They sell dash kits for e38's for aftermarket head units, so everything you want is possible.

I always check Crutchfield before I make any "car audio" decisions. If you have in depth questions or can't find the info you're looking for ... they're just a phone call away. Very knowledgeable and great customer service; no matter how small the order might be. |

2001 BMW E38 Sports Package n/Tuned
Hello
The E38 I had was pretty fast with just a software tune from a guy on Ebay. I forget his name but he did it remotely for me. It changed the Rev governor and fuel level mixture, etc.... My car had stock navigation but I removed the head unit and added a double Din Pioneer head unit Deck in....remember, To add a dbl din deck, you may need to customize a cover bc the back area is shallow compared to normal size openings. If I find a pic, I will post.... Suspension was from tire rack with Koni/ Eibank springs Wheels /Tires...19" BBQ LM's, Michelin PSS |
