Any Lego collectors in here? I build mostly Star Wars (UCS), and Technic lately. Finished this M last week, it's been one of the most technical builds I have done but was a lot of fun, especially since it's a BMW.

I just started last year. So far I've built the big ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters, the Ducati and added the light kit, I'm about 2/3 of the way through the Land Rover Defender build (finally received a few missing parts yesterday after waiting nearly a month).

Have the red VW van and Bugatti Chiron on deck. The BMW bike and Lambo are likely to be the next purchased along with the Ferrari and Porsche. I'd like to get my hands on the 911 GT3 RS, but since they are out of production, a complete unopened box is like $600. And I'm not paying that much.

Between NBA 2k, watching racing, playing guitar, iRacing on triple monitor sim rig, and LEGO's it's hard to squeeze everything in around a full-time job.......and need to get my fat ass back to the gym.

WOW, great bike. Just got my 9yr old the Apollo from Lego Land in Orlando. Its a 16+ kit but he is pretty technical about things...so we shall see

I’m a fan of the old Ford’s, don’t watch them now though.

I’m actually a fan of Allan Moffat, there’s also his A9X and RX7 and all of his cars are signed.

I got the VC as a gift, always liked that one though.

We are big Lego fans and have been for years. I used to build the Technic sets with my wife and then children came along. We made the subway sign from scratch when my 2nd daughter was born. She is now 11 and built the typewriter a few weeks ago by herself. She built the Liebherr R 9800 last year by herself and that is a great set.

My sister gave me a copy of the original Lego patent so I have that framed as shown too.

We have so much "other" Lego sets broken down (many old Lego Friends Sets) that we have to figure out what to make.

We also have all of the architecture cities and trying come up with a good display plan for those.

In storage I have many other large Technic sets including the Chiron and Cian FKP 37 but we don't have any more space in our NYC apartment to display them. The 24 Hours Race Car #42039 is usually on the lift above the Porsche but I am working on where else to put that.

For car people, I really recommend the car transporter #42098 - it is very cool. The VW minibus used to be on that too until it fell and we have not rebuilt it yet.

It is too bad that my kids (11 and 14) are WAY more interested in Tik-Tok than anything else...

My parents got me Legos when I was 7. Over the years, I got more and more to the point that I had 10 full 2-gallon tubs of Legos sorted by color. I also got our kids into Legos (13 and 17 now). By the time they outgrew them, we had 20 tubs. We donated them to a friend that fosters kids.

I firmly believe Legos made me into the creative, trouble-shooting, "I can fix it" guy I am today. I'm not afraid to take apart most anything. I drool over all the amazing Technic kits, especially the vehicles and Star Wars stuff. My issue is they're freaking expensive, I'd build them quickly, and then they'd just collect dust

Also, my favorite thing about Legos was building my own things. Legos were exceptional toys and learning tools.

I agree with this statement! I can fix almost anything too. Replace a transmission - sure. Install new rollers on a stacked drier - yes. Fix PC hardware problems - of course. I spent many days this summer working on my dad's small speed boat with a VolvoPenta V8 replacing all sensors, raw water pump, and risers/heat exchangers - that was all new to me - being out on New York Harbor at night was worth it.

I also grew up making my own things with Lego. There were not sets for EVERYTHING back then. I think I still have all of the pieces for one of the early Lego Technic sets - the 853 Auto Chassis.

It is too bad that my kids don't try to learn - I want them to be girls with mechanical skills. My younger daughter makes a little bit of effort and was learning about using a multimeter the other day and I convinced her to watch a YouTube video about the difference between summer and snow tires.

Yep. I’m a fan. Love the Star Wars theme, but also WWI and WWII renditions as done by: www.Brickmania.com who do a brilliant job making tanks, and other historically accurate models.

I firmly believe that Legos were integral into me being interested in the things I am today as well as the career path I chose.

It was a sad day when I came home after being away at college to find my mother had sold off a bajillion Legos at a garage sale for pennies on the dollar. She was so excited to hand me the $50. Had to pick my jaw up off the floor.
