Gasol has the same situation, but not as extreme since he's not strong enough to directly attack certain centers/power forwards. Likes to settle for too many jumpers. He has been sliding to the basket well when Kobe drives though.

They both have shrank considerably in the play offs, which is why I consider their play even at this point.
I'll grant you that both KG and Gasol are not playing to their potentials right now. However, you will NEVER see Gasol dunk on anyone the way KG dunked on Sheed in the last series. Gasol just doesn't have it in him. KG has it and he gets his team and the crowd hyped up. The Lakers are going to miss Bynum in this series more than any other.

Casol needs to learn to step it up to the rim harder instead of "feathering" the ball in.

If Lakers play just a bit better than they have been, the series is in LAs favor.
EVERYONE overestimated the Celtics...

Very nice find. I don't really have a comeback. I just don't see him doing THAT anymore.

However, even that dunk was a little soft. The NBA FINALS needs dunks with power and emotion. Did you see Kobe's steal leading to a breakaway, reverse, double pump throw down that was absolutely unnecessary against the Spurs? It deflated the crowd (smattering of boos), deflated the Spurs, and let the young Lakers know that they were gonna win. On occasion Odom makes those kinds of plays (when he's not sleepwalking through a game) but rarely/never does Gasol do it.

+1, in the end, its all about who can get into their opponents head first...

Pau Gasol is more of a finesse, precision player, and he's European. You aren't going to see many European players throw down monster dunks. What I'd really like to see is Sasha play his mind games on Pierce and Allen. Walton needs to step it up and stay consistent. Same thing with Vlad. Odom has to keep up his intensity and not let up. Farmar and D. Fish can take on Rondo and Cassell, but hopefully Fisher won't get into early foul trouble b/c we need his D. Kobe will do his thing. I hope to see more of Ariza. Even the bottom feeder bench players DJ Mbenga, Ira Newble, and Chris Mihm can hopefully contribute. Playing at Boston will be tough but the Lakers need to get one of those 1st two games in Boston, preferably the 1st.

Gasol can play that way, but more often than not he chooses to settle for the jumper. Which is what disappoints me about him. He has all the physical attributes, but chooses to ignore them. I hope he snaps out of it during this series and we see the old him come out to play. KG is starting to do the same. He shrinks himself way to often. BTW I am a huge KG fan and wanted and prayed for him to come to the Lakers. Stupid Kevin McHale.
