Polishing Service

Hey all,

I have a Panerai PAM510 that has been my daily driver since about 2016. Tells time wonderfully and is extremely reliable. The 8 day power reserve is fantastic even if it runs a little fast when fully wound. My question is if anyone can recommend a trustworthy polishing service. It's gotten it's fair share of fine scratches and dings, so I'd like to have it cleaned up a bit to look newer again. I'd really like to not have to send it to Richemont and pay nearly $1k for a full service on it. It doesn't need to look perfect, just better. I'm comfortable leaving the movement alone for the time being as it's running well and I'm paranoid that opening up the case will leave it more likely to have issues than just leaving it alone as it comes from the factory. So the gist of my question is can anyone recommend a good polishing service for mid-high end watches?

U do know u shouldn’t polish (value, appearance)

For the polished area of your watch you can do it yourself easily enough. Maybe you know already but I’ll throw it out there anyway.
I was looking for something for my Submariner for some fines scratches and while reading the Rolex Forum I saw a lot of folks use and recommend Cape Cod polishing cloth. I bought a can and I have to say it works marvelously on fine scratches. It’s a very mild abrasive perfect for such work and doesn’t remove much material at all. You can’t ‘dish’ the steel with this stuff it’s so mild.

I give my Sub and a couple other pieces a rub down every couple years to refresh them. A can will last for years. One caveat, don’t use it on textured steel only the polished.

That's what I was going to recommend...just get a pack off Amazon and DIY dude; at least give that a shot before sending that watch anywhere.

Interesting. I've always been a DIY type of guy and it crossed my mind but I quickly dismissed it as a bad idea. I'll give it a go, thanks for the info guys!

I've been told many times to forego polishing. For resale- it will diminish value.
