Giuliani: The Rise And Eventual Fall Of.

One of the greatest mysteries to me in our current soap opera like politics is how Giuliani went from highly respected prosecutor/mayor to eventually disgraced Trump sycophant.

And the other side.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...-biden/598879/

He has replaced Cohen as Trump's fixer and will maybe not suffer the same fate of Cohen (prison). But, he will ultimately/unceremoniously be cast aside by Trump and the Republicans. It's already happening now due to the whole Ukraine thing.

I rarely respect politicians, but I really did respect him and am truly sad to see what has become of him. Thoughts on why he chose to go this route with his career/life?

Maybe he's working for the republican establishment and not for Trump personally. And his job is to defend Trump.

Native New Yorker here and met the man on one occasion back in the 80ís. I always respected him since his US Attorney for NY state days, Mayor of NYC and to the present and even more so now actually. Most Republicans I know feel the same. Heís become more conservative as the years roll on. Heís fighting to keep the countries keys out of the hands of socialists, antifa, BLM........
Heís not falling in the eyes of many.

If his job is to subvert and help take Trump down for them than I can see that. He hasn’t always done the greatest job defending him.

But, I doubt it. Trump doesn’t roll that way and as most know he demands loyalty to him first over all else. This has taken a lot of people down and ultimately Giuliani will be added to that long list as well.

Ultimately it's Trump discretion whether to fire or hire people, but I still think above all Giuliani is working for the party. And also above all else, the Republican party wants a republican President so they would do anything to keep it that way.

As for Giuliani, if for whatever reason Trump wants to fire him, the Republican will just appoint someone else to defend Trump on CNN. It also explains why the republicans in the Senate still support him although I don't think a lot of them really like Trump.

But I agree with you it's hard to see why Giuliani would want to go down this way unless there is something else he's getting that we don't know. It's hard to imagine what Trump has that can give him.

You seem to imply he's doing purely for money. Well that's new to me lols. Don't we all?

I guess the Republicans of 1974 had more balls. They chose country over party. And I feel this offense is worse than Watergate.

Still waiting on something for Trump to "go down" for. So far, two years in nothing but lies, retracted stories, bullshit, and anonymous sources from radical dimturds and their sycophants in the media. Two years and millions of dollars on an investigation into Trump returned zero, we've lost count on the number of retracted "bombshell" stories in the meantime.

Rudy hasn't fallen from anything, it's the media and radical left in this country who have sunk in the toilet. Fuck em.

Your last two words are exactly what he told the dems and their hair on fire, again, media a few moments ago. Gee, I wonder why they're going full on assault on Rudi.

Maybe the republicans feel that the "party" is the country. 1974 was a lot different than 2020. Whether rightly or wrongly, and given how far left the Dems have gone, I can understand.

He didnít have enough before? And he couldnít get more based on all of his accomplishments in another easier way if that was the motivation? My guess would be power or interest to be back in the game/be relevant again. Iím still surprised he took this path.

Trump may not go down, but Giuliani will most assuredly be chewed up and spit out my his allies/machine. It is already starting to happen.

This has nothing to do with the Dems so you can save those same rants for the other thread.

Why would a smart guy like Giuliani gone this way unless he is getting something in return? lols maybe the republicans are the mafia and you know what they say, once you're in, you never left.

The Democrats have always had a lunatic left fringe. Always. The sad part is now the GOP has a lunatic right fringe. And they are headed by Trump. These are not average Republicans.
