2020 Democrat Primary Debates

I didn't see a thread on this yet, so thought I would create one where we could chat and/or discuss.

Reviewing the highlights (I didn't watch it) from last night, my favorite comment by far was when Castro announced that he supports the rights of biological men who identify as women to have an abortion.

Let that sink in a moment. The party of 'science'.

I also got a kick out of a poll that asked who won the first Democrat Primary Debate. The top response? Trump.

I watched it live. It was pure pandering to the highest degree.

While the majority of her policy ideas are trash, Tulsi Gabbard would for sure be my pick out of the bunch if I had to choose. Anti-war and doesn't shill for Isreal.

She's not hanging out on the left edge, at least. She was also the most Searched after the debate. No chance however. She's not in the gang and would be mowed down by the creeps in the deep. What was with MSNBC being the exclusive broadcaster? That's creepy.
Booker staring at Beto when he went into Latino O'Rourke was priceless. Somebody find a pic. Hilarious expression.

Chris Matthews said DeBuzzio shined brightest. Wut?

I actually thought Delaney would be my pick from the night. Not because he has the slightest chance of winning, he just seemed to have the most logic of the bunch

Is this pre or post debate? Curious to see the difference in polling from pre to post the debates to see how people reacted to their performances.

It was a waste of time. Too many people with too little time for each. Cannot learn a thing with a format such as that.

Prediction:
Tonight Joe will be...

A. Adderall Joe, flailing about.
B. Sleepy Joe, head bobbing from millisecond naps.

How many people scratched their heads afterwards and mumbled "I, I, I can't vote for that stuff"?

Here's the real question for Trump supporters and/or generally right leaning people:

Would you rather:

A. Have a far left progressive win the nomination with the assumption that they'll be easier to beat in the general election or

B. Have a moderate/centrist win the primary as a more tolerable plan B if Trump loses?

Choice A will guarantee a Trump victory

Both of those where post debate. You can see the +/- increase or decrease from before the debate in the second screen shot. Gabbard was up by 0.7% subsequent to her debate performance.

I don't know about guaranteed anything.
If Biden survives the trail he will be Trump's biggest test.
Imo, if Trump can avoid war and a recession, I think he wins a close one.

Say its Warren.
When the curtain gets pulled back on her policies and a giant calculator gets put on TV with her ideas being entered...pffftt, she's crisped.

I am not a huge fan of Trump, but appreciate some of his domestic policies - specifically the reduction in regulations and the TCJA.

That said, the majority of the current Democrat primary candidates are absolutely horrific. As such, I would rather see Biden win the nomination as I don't think he will govern with as much leftist ideas as the remaining options - I picture a Biden presidency similar to Bill Clinton. I feel that Trump has about a 50/50 chance of reelection and I don't want to risk getting a crazy leftist socialist in the office if I can help it. I would rather a strong chance of Trump losing and Biden winning than a slim chance of Trump losing, but having someone like Sanders in the office if he wins.

Note that as a person and in my daily life, I am extremely risk adverse, so it spills over here as well.

My take so far:
Disappointed: In the Texas boys. O'Rourke didn't do to well (& he seemed to be everyones target, even more than Warren or Biden), and Castro is wayyyy out there.

I liked: Klubachar, more moderate than most of the others.
Delaney, lets fix whats broken (in response to Warrens "medicade for
all" pitch)

I did not like: Warren: medicaid for all, just not likable.
Castro
Booker. He's an ass.
DeBlasio: another ass.

Looking forward to hearing from:
Biden
Buttigieg
