sounds fun, wouldn't mind a rip in an M3 through the mountains...
We'll see how this year looks, I'm always up for learning some camera tricks. |

No, sorry to say, I was just too lazy to move so that the post wasn't in the way. The buck was spooked already, so moving the car or getting out of it might have caused him to run, which he did soon after this. Still, I should have tried it without the post in the way. I saw the post as I took it, but the buck was filling the frame and I couldn't get him framed like I wanted and eliminate the snow.

What were your settings? I'm suspecting that this is a relatively high ISO, but I could easily be wrong. Dave

yeah, i grabbed a few reflections unfortunatly, i was just looking around at some of my stuff and saw this. No post processing. I didn't have much of a clue how to do it back then, barely any better now, should probably give it a shot though.

hahaha one of the last shots i took with that lens. My T1i was in my hands for about 2 months before i got fed up with it and bought a 5D
It was a 10 step process that kind of went like this. 1: buy a (what i thought) half decent camera body and kit for my trip out west 2: take some time to get used to things 3: realize that my crappy 75-300 lens was getting way nicer pictures then the 18-55mm lens that came with the camera 4: buy used 17-85mm IS USM and swiftly learn that it was 10x the lens that came with the camera. 5: Get back home and try to ID tag some rare birds with crappy 75-300mm, realize that's impossible with so much colour separation, then go out the next day and buy 100-400mm L series. 6: realize the T1i is wasting the talents of the 100-400mm 7: buy 24-70mm L series because i enjoyed the results of my other L series. I now have the disease called "L-seriesitis" 8: finally give up 100% on T1i and research my options. 9: Buy 5D and fall in love. Realize that every single part of the T1i that i didn't like was taken care of by the 5D 10: Obsess, learn more, get better, and dream of my next opportunity to play with the camera. |

For those of you following the potential release of the 5DMKIII, rumor has it that it won't be released before the end of this year (e.g. December, at the earliest). However, some more reliable sources have confirmed it'll include an improved 7D AF scheme. I guess some development units are out in the field now. Also, the kit lens may in fact be the new 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS II lens (although it's still just a rumor). Sadly, I see with all these improvements, there will probably be a price increase from the MKII model because it'll be designed more for a pro.

lol, 7" isn't bad at all we had 6' of snow in a few areas before xmas within 36 hours. was pretty.
Vancouver is actually haveing a pretty snowy year, i have a few friends out that way, and all i get from them is complaints about how they moved out there to avoid snow, and they keep getting it. any other year though, i bet you'd be happy to be out there to avoid the snow As would I.... I love visiting my friends there. probably a matter of time before i end up living there. |

^^^Good pic. Were they loud? They're about to put three of them just off-campus where I work. Lots of local folks are rightfully worried about the noise.

I personally kinda like the noise, but, I'm not living under them. I personally wouldn't worry too much unless there's 1 about 100' away from where you work, then it might be a bit obnoxious. |

Might be interesting to do a long exposure shot of them to get some motion blur in the blades.
