Or for ~1300 get a 300 F4 and 1.4x if you are shooting a Canon.
It works nicely for me on my 40D but focusing is not so hot with the 40D.
I'll 2d the 300/f4 with a 1.4x TC as a very effective way to get into nature photography. Focusing with the 7D is excellent.

People with a larger budget will want the 300/f2.8 with the 1.4x TC and the 2.0x TC.

I'd consider the 300 2.8 if i were living close to where he is, the wildlife alone would make the $$$ amount worth it to me, but as i live along the 401 in canada, the wildlife is at a minimum unless you count what you find at the sides of the roads

the 100-400 suits my needs for now. But even that was mostly getting used for sports photography mostly when i was with my ex.

the 135 is about as high a focal length as i've been shooting in the last month.

i wouldn't recommend it on a crop body unless you're shooting nature. the 135 focal length is quite long when paired with crop.

The 135 spends most of it's time on the 5D mkII because of that.

Power tools and tight spaces don't always mix well.

What is (was) she doing?
