I think the guy just preferred the m-sport front bumper. Why do you think he's pretending to be a 435?
Here in Canada, 428 base and 435 base has about 4000 dollar price difference. This M-sport bumper alone will cost about 2000+ to purchase and be installed. If he really like 435 M-sport bumper, why not just spend 2K more to get not only front bumper, but also rear, and M-sport steering wheel, plus 2 more cylinders and 60 more hp? No math here.

Reminds me of the early 90's MB 300sl switch to 500sl

Oh but wait,in the next few years MB moved the lettering around.Guess what, that new 500sl got renewed to a sl500.

Right, that's the point. He was asking if it counts as a FAKE M car.

To contribute...no M badge, but, you know....

The 5 series is not a fake m5

It still says 540 as to not imply that it is an m5,but is it a 540 or a 525?That will remain a mystery.

You're assuming it's an OEM bumper rather than an aftermarket M-Sport bumper, and you're also not factoring in the possibility that he might have bought that bumper used off of a forum member. While I get the point that you are trying to make, maybe he couldn't afford the extra $100+ a month to step up to a 335i. The average difference in payment between a comparably equipped 435 vs 428 is $150+ on average.

Could have at least kept it in the family with and RS badge, or maybe painting a giant SV on the side.

This is my favorite, the BMM decal is amazing.

I guess he must have turned the W upside down when sticking it on and didn't notice. Either that or he seized the opportunity to put another M on it.

Priceless

What's worse, putting a ///M badge on a POS clunker or putting one on a nice BMW that didn't have a ///M model?

I rolled up next to a Pontiac solstice with Ferrari emblems on hood and both driver and passenger front quarter panels .Just to have proper Ferrari placement. Was it suppose to be a Ferrari Daytona ? Miami Vice Ferrari Daytona?

I think it's ok to debadge if the lettering is excessive

I debadge one of my cars.I have a ACTIVEHYBRID 3 on my trunk lid AND ON BOTH SIDES ON BOTH C PILLARS.There is no reason for any car company to use my vehicle as a billboard.Unless they are paying me monthly to advertise for them .I have also a 435 Msport w 19 " which is not Xdrive . I am fine with the 435i but if I got the 435i Xdrive I would remove the Xdrive emblem. It does make the trunk lid look too busy.I was curious why the could not have badged the hybrid as AH3 or 335h ,it would have been so much more pleasant .My M4 doesn't say MOTORSPORT 4 on the back When I lease return the hybrid I am going to attach the 3 ACTIVEHYBRID 3 emblems to my key ring with the 2 keyfobs, they might charge me if they are missing
