Monte Carlo/Nice
Looking for ideas for things to do while I am at a sales convention.
Restaurant and excursion advice needed. I looked at some menus, but they are all in french. If you like Formula 1, fyi: we are going to be at the Fairmont, over the famous tunnel of the race course, next to the hairpin turn. |

Dress up as nicely as a Dodger can and visit a casino to people watch? I bet it is obscene amounts of money and just might be fun to see.
Otherwise, no idea. Never been. But I'd love to see what people lay down at the casinos there. |

My wife and I went for the Grand Prix in 2016. If you have the chance make the trip to Tête de Chien, watch the sunset and take in the amazing views of the city. You'll be hard pressed to find a better spot for panoramic views of Monte Carlo. If you make it to the Fontvielle district you'll be able to see Stade Louis II. It's the home of AS Monaco and the Monaco national team if you don't follow soccer. The principality is relatively small so I suggest walking around. You'll likely stumble across Monaco Motors. If you walk around to the side of the building (it's situated on a corner) the bay to Service may be open. I was stunned to see a Testarossa (mid-80s), F40, 458 Italia, Enzo and LaFerrari all in at the same time. There were a couple of older models that I could not immediately recognize.
I have no recommendations for food unfortunately as nothing really stood out. Since my wife and I don't love French fare we ate just about everything but. Have fun! |

Google this place: 11 Rue Princesse Florestine, 98000 Monaco. Should your Ferrari, or Maserati, need repairs, this is the place for it. Right on the sidewalk like any Jiffy Lube. Cool Place. Enjoy the drive to Monte Carlo, without a rush, and just as you are nearing Monaco, you will see a sign where Grace Kelly lost her life. beautiful drive, however. And your wife doesn't have to go topless; you can do it for her, but make sure you wear dark glasses so it doesn't look like you're ogling.

It's changed so much, was way better in the 90s.
Try Menton, a sleepy little town fairly close by. (even though it's become way bigger as well and not much of a secret anymore) |

I found it a bit boring when we went. I think staying near the coast would have been better. Monaco was nice no pun intended. There are plenty of exotic cars and hyper yachts there. Some of them even have restaurants onboard. I wouldn't spend more than a day in Nice next time. Other than the cars and site seeing there is not much.
Quite a few good ones on the coast/hills so depends what you fancy. Some are stupid expensive. I liked Blue Bay. It wasn't too bad on the wallet. |
