BMW already has a history with GKN providing the rear diff used for dynamic performance control in their SAVs. No reason they can't use the newer twinster system for the fwd based performance variants.

Not saying the technology can't support it. Simply more of an audilike experience. X1 in current state has a 56/44 f/r weight distribution. The old x1 much closer to 50/50. Plus like I said, for years they've been promoting 50/50 as a key component of the ultimate driving experience. I'm sure it'll be great if they do it but I was really disappointed when they deviated from their formula. Glad I have my e84.

They've had John Cooper Works editions of almost every Mini they've released over the last gen. Now that they're sharing platforms it's almost a no brainer for having M and M Performance variants. If Mini can sell $40k JCW GPs and have people rave about them, no reason BMW can't.

That being said, clearly there is room to expand with more M Performance vehicles in the lower end (1 through 4) passenger car and SUV lineup. And there are already 1, 2, X4 models. So, yes, X1, X2, X3, 3, and 4 M Performance models are the obvious direction for possible expansion. No big mystery there.

I am pretty sure he meant the latter.
Yes we already know about the Joint BMW-Toyota plan regarding a platform for a sports car. Because it has already been announced. But there is ongoing development that will be announcement on a small car joint architecture, which is the next phase. MINI is the bigger beneficiary than BMW here.

M Performance will be reflected through each model and used to identify non-M philosophy branded cars. The X1 and X2 and the next generation BMW 2er Sporthatch and the China manufactured 2er Sedan will encompass xDrive for their M Performance models.

M Performance will also reflect the 3er to the 7er as it already does in select markets.
BMW M. will also reflect Power eDrive models. As well as a further Performance innovation lab under a sub-line.

But BMW M. Will only be featured from M2 upwards but will include the new X3,X4 and the forthcoming Z5.

I can see it now, you go to the dealership and ask for an M3 coupe and the salesman just goes out in the lot, takes an M4 badge off an M4 and slaps an M3 badge on it.

Vice versa for the M4 sedan.

I was recently in America and I saw a blinged out (in other words ruined by the aftermarket) M4 Coupe except somebody replaced M4 with an M3 badge.
Pray... That person is not on here....

Jesus man, you made me look and zoom in. He's a bit grey on one side and the ltg isn't helping, but no.

Thankfully!

Overall, the female is too small, (or isn't wearing the correct heels) and the other guys are arranged incorrectly for best viewing of the vehicle.

Poor preparation ahead of said photo shoot would appear to be the order of the day.

CSL family? That's my guess.

Unless it just refers to the X3/X4 M. Hopefully this is more significant than that though.
Further M expansion includes the future planned:

- X7M
- i3M
- i5M
- Z5M

All models feature hybrid 4cyl quad turbo engines.
That's just mean?

The phrase “higher volume segments” suggests that BMW is talking about the lower- to mid-ranges of its produce lineup, one that includes the 2, 3, 4, and 5 Series families, as well as the X1, X3, and X4 SUVs. Taking some of these buzzwords into the equation, it appears that the German automaker is looking at introducing new M variants for models in these families, opening the door for the possible return of the M3 Coupe, the introduction of an M4 Sedan, and more M-badged crossovers and SUVs in the future. The BMW M7 is also another model that’ll likely come out from this new business strategy as BMW continues to fill up the M Performance division.

Makes no sense. An M3 coupé is the M4 and a 4 door M4 is the M3. Unless they are just looking for more metal to slap M badges on, this just doesn't make sense at all.
