As a Yankee fan Chapman is vital to their pen. Starting pitching sucks:
CC - shot/drunk Tanaka - his arm will fall off by May and come back in 2018. Pineda - has the stuff to be an ace but I don't trust him Nova - TRASH Eovaldi - Has the stuff to be a decent #4 as long as he stays healthy I want Beltran/Texeira gone as they are old and always get injured. Bird at first and Judge in the outfield is what I want. |

Also I plan on making the 2.5 hour drive up to Port St Lucie and checking out that pitching staff of the Mets.

Yankees will have to rely on their bats to score runs and have the starters last through the 6th. Then it will be tough for opposing hitters to get to Betances, Chapman and Miller. Oh I forgot about that rookie starter, forget his name. He has upside.
Mets are the favored in the NL but have a scrappy bullpen, Nats will rebound, Phillies are rebuilding, Cubs will be competitive, Cardinals are always there and the Dodgers will be the Dodgers. I'm looking forward to see how Donnie Baseball does here, however, he isn't a good manager. Maybe with less pressure down here he can evolve. |

That's what scares me.
They lost Greinke to Arizona and the Giants picked up Cueto. There's only one righty in the Dodgers starting rotation... And that wretched bullpen. Doesn't look very good on paper, that's for sure.

Once Harper leaves via FA you won't find a Nat fan anywhere.

I'm excited for this coming season. The AL central is going to be tough. I hope my Tigers do a lot better with some of the pickups we got.

I can't believe Red Sox gave price that ridiculous contract. I like the players Yankees picked up. The bullpen is going to be lights out. However, starting pitching worries me. I can't wait for Texeira to come off. I never saw a player get hurt as much as him. I might go down for spring training to see the Yankees. While I'm there, might visit my friend who plays for the Tampa Bay Rays. Can't wait for February 18. That's when pitchers and catchers report. April 4, opening day against Houston. Go Yankees.

I heard that the Yankees will honor Big Papi at the stadium this year.

There really isn't a rivalry between the Yanks/Sox anymore. Aside from the late 70's, the late 90's through 2007 was at its peak. Nobody hates anyone anymore

I think Price and his contract will be fine. Bullpen is much improved. I'm more concerned they won't get much more from 5-6 guys who were hurt or just sucked last year (Panda, Ramirez, Buckholz, Porcello, Pedroia, Kelly). Can't win with 25% of the roster and all starting pitchers way underperforming.

It was one of the Baseball digest magazines that had Sox winning it all. My friend who plays for Tampa told me that Papi is a really nice guy. I don't mind Yanks honoring Papi. I won't be surprised if he hits the game winner. Most likely a 400 foot shot to dead center. He's a Yankee killer.

I know it's 3 season away but where do you think Harper will land winter 2018? I doubt he'll stay with the Nats but at a possible $400M contract that he might command is tough to swallow, even for the Yankees.
