It wouldn't allow me to uncheck the box. Maybe the dealer disabled it?

Look at the video you posted. It shows the box checked for steering intervention. I should be able to just click on that to disable like they did in the video but it doesn't change.
EDIT - Video Tommy posted.

I would think you'd be able to uncheck it, yeah. Maybe they did disable it since it's a loaner car but strange nonetheless. |

The dealer finished my service early yesterday so I didn't have to drive that damn loaner home.
Unrelated but a question for you guys. I just put on my winter wheel set up, which is square. All four tires are now the same size as the fronts from the staggered summer set up. The sticker on the door says 36 psi for the front tire size. My tire guy did 38 front and 40 rear when he swapped them. I asked the dealer to check the pressure. They did 38 front and 42 rear. If all the tires are the same size, shouldn't they all be at 36? Or is there a reason the rears should be higher? Thanks and happy Friday

When I was running winter tires on the BMW it was also square but I would run 38 across and never had an issue. Wear was consistent and still did a standard rotation each year. I've never seen any real reason to not run equal pressures, at least on the BMW and my truck. |

Children's toys at Christmas time are ridiculous. I just overpaid for the must have Magic Mixies that my 7 year old wants.
At least she'll be happy |

Once you start getting into "x" temp/weather conditions, staggered, track or daily, rim size, tire size, location of engine (front or rear), then offsetting psi comes more into play. |

Also keep in mind that those PSI numbers shown on the vehicle are COLD temps, not warmed up. I'm so glad I bought my own compressor to use at home because I can assure myself of putting in the right tire pressures under cold (aka not driven) conditions.
EDIT: I mistakenly posted too early before adding some more information here. Also, I do find it nice to have continuously updated information in iDrive which I know cmyx6go has. It's taking into consideration the current conditions such as temperatures, etc. I do sometimes observe different recommended Front and Rear tire pressures but I also have a staggered setup on my car. A bit off topic but since we're on the subject of tires I learned something new yesterday over on the G20 forum. I never thought much about it but on the Michelin PS4s tires that came as OE on my vehicle, there is a star symbol after the "s" on the sidewall. This indicates it's a BMW specific OE tire that was designed for that vehicle. There's an excellent, in-depth tire review video I watched regarding this specific tire and what the differences are between the "standard" PS4s tires versus the BMW spec'd one and I was amazed at how different they are. Compounds used are different (type and amount) leading to different performance characteristics. Really interesting stuff. This is actually relevant if you find yourself in need of a single tire due to irreparable damage. I think you have to get the OE tire from the dealer (I could be wrong), or at the very least you have to make sure you order the BMW OE version of the the tire (Michelin PS4s with star symbol) to make sure it matches up with the other tires on your car. Personally I would have ordered through a shop like Discount Tire because they are quick and relatively inexpensive but they provide outstanding customer service (ex: free tire repairs, etc.). If I didn't know about the BMW specific version of that tire I would order a replacement not knowing the difference. For those interested, in the case of this specific tire (originally designed for the G80 M3/M4) Michelin collaborated with BMW for 2.5 years of R&D to perfect it for that car. Sorry but this is for geeks that like this sort of stuff but this is one of the most impressive tire reviews I've seen and I learned a lot. Last edited by TiMSport; 11-19-2021 at 09:51 AM.. |

Good day because work day is almost done, will catch a beer or two while I wait for engineer buddy to finish his work day then we'll get a round of tennis in. Probably hit a bar after words for the "cool down" period.
