My guess is that even their dates might not be accurate. My car was produced 4/28. It's been at the VPC since 6/28 and no one can tell me why.
I think it is probably affected too. if it was transport damage that needs a month to get fixed then it must be major and should be disclosed and there hasn't been which leads me to guess that it must be the diff.

First post here.. would have liked it was in another topic not a Recall related!

Missed the initial list on page 7, no new list yet I see.

My M2 finished production on the 20th, I believe it started after that July 4th time frame.

I'm at the PC right now and just asked the folks here, no details as to why, when or anything regarding this issue, all I know is, I get to see mine but not drive it home.

Will BMW be paying to ship it to your dealer, or will you have to pay for it?

I know they _should_, but that doesn't mean they _will_...

I was offered to have the experience, but not take delivery, then come back for another PCD with delivery once the car has been repaired.

Here's the info... no VIN list, but it's all of them.

http://www.autozeitung.de/auto-news/...hsdifferential

If your car was made during those dates you are affected.

I'm in a position where I'll probably have to ask them to cover this.

And hoping they will deliver to another dealer than the one I purchased from. But who knows maybe I'll do another pcd.

talked to genius today and dude said that it shouldn't take too long...he sighted something around 1 week or so. I'm not sure that I believe him. I assume that none of us experienced a repair yet?

Well, the good news is for all of us who have not actually seen the car at a dealership before we placed our orders, can now just go out back of the dealership and browse all of the broken M2's. They will be beside all of the used BMW's that can't be sold because of the lack of replacement airbags.

That's promising - my experience with genius is that they are actually really conservative in estimates. Gives me a bit of hope. I was thinking months.

BMW doesn't have a solution yet.

I thought the solution was a full rear diff replacement? Is that not correct?

Correct but BMW doesn't have a fix for the "noise".

I just went through a launch issue with one of the big 3 on a new engine and it was all hands on deck - message all the way down from CEO. Daily task force / escalations to our top management / board of directors. I'm assuming that BMW operates the same which means weekend work, 24/7 root cause and manufacturing from supplier.

they don't even know the scope of the problem yet, let alone a solution. One day it's supposed to be 200 cars and the next day it becomes 3500.

I sent an email to bmw relations requesting an update. Communication to the community is key as we are excited to take delivery of our new babies.
