Accidentally hit folded down parking poles

So there are these black poles and all of them were facing down like the one in the middle. I totally forgot about them and hit them at like 2 mph, barely putting the clutch in for 1st. Car isn’t that low and it hit the skid plate, I think. It was a good bang or thump and security came out. Right when security came out I reversed out and dipped.

Do you think if the fold down pole is messed up I will get charged? They have cameras but can they really send me a bill or anything? I hit it at a low speed but it made a good bang. Ima check it out later at night while walking to see if it is messed up.

Scratched and cut my x brace but its all good. Now im more concerned about if they will try and track me down for damaging the car stoppers.

You've already waste valuable time! Personally I would get a new identity and move to Morocco. Better safe than sorry.

How is you fleeing the scene any different from someone who backs into your car then 'dips'?

Did you not have parents who taught you about personal responsibility for your actions?

Society is doomed if your actions are indicative of your peers behavior.

If those barriers had somehow malfunctioned and damaged your car, would you want the company to fix your car or would you want the company to "dip?"

If you damaged the poles, then it is your responsibility to make it right.

Yeah, it sucks, but that is how adulting works.

I'd be haranguing THEM why they put F* poles in where vehicles can drive over them when down damaging cars.

I would definitely try to change the plates on your car and change your identity at the same time. Don't drive by there for at least a year and get the X-brace replaced so you can deny it was your car.

Admit it OP, the pole looked just as upright as those other ones in the picture until you ran over it, didn't it? I'd be on my way to Mexico for sure.

Naw it was the one folded down. I went over it with my nonsport e90 and it was fine. I thought the Zsp package e90 can clear it to.

I'm sure that's what all the pole murders say.

If it was already downed... then one would assume it's already been hit... in which case how would you cause damage to an already damaged and downed pole?

For your sake I hope you posted this from your in-flight internet.

Or BAM you hit a second pole strategically placed by the owner of the other poles.

You did the right thing my friend. Only thing you should have done additionally is peeling out. I always peel out after some criminal activity.
