For everyone saying HAM fans were wrong for cheering VER going into a wall. For everyone upset at Dutch fans cheering HAM having PU issues.

Here is Mclaren screaming with joy that VER and HAM crashed.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CTw7G...dium=copy_link

I think it's human nature to cheer when the initial instinct is your team or your driver gains an advantage. But this looks terrible in hindsight when you find out the driver is injured/winds up in hospital etc. I'm actually surprised to see them share this knowing how close HAM was to having severe head/neck injury

I can’t seem to find the reference in the post to that being the moment of the crash? Am I missing an important detail?

I remembered seeing it live. If you watch the TV behind them in the garage you can see the crash. That's why you also see some in disbelief covering their face masks with both hands.

Max knew that Ham was fine as he was attempting to back out his car.

Would have been nice for Max to still say something to Ham along the lines of "are you Okay"?

I'm glad that both of them are okay although I foresee more incidents, I hope there will be no more. For sure this is an exciting championship battle.

Seems rather nitpicky. They posted this the day after the race, surely if there was more dire results to the drivers they would not have publicized it.

In fact, the lady covering her mask which is covering her mouth actually turned away, such was her reaction to the crash. Not a good look for so many.

I'm pointing out double standards on this board for people that are upset about those that cheer in these sorts of instances. When your competition has problems/issues/accidents… your initial instinct (for many) is to cheer

I know Daniel sort of addressed the issue after the fact. But… I really really felt sorry for botas not being offered a shoey. Might have declined. But should have been offered up the shoe. Poor Botas. It was uncomfortable to watch. And that was 5 minutes after totally getting dissed by coulthard. Botas is the Rodney dangerfield of F1. No respect at all.

MAX lost at least 75 driver points by HAM's and BOT's dirty tricks .

If it wasn't , HAM's season and his WDC would be already over ...

As usual Randy Pobst is jumping to conclusions without having all the information...
He says " Can Lewis see you at this point? No, he’s looking the other way at the apex."
But that is not the issue. HAM knew VER was there.
Everyone can verify that because his team told him so over the radio.....TWICE

First when leaving the pits, his team says "it's gonna be tight on exit", and just before steering into the chicane: "Verstappen with you now".
And you can see VER both in the mirror and in the cameraview you see his front wing (so that would porbably have been in his peripheral vision). So when his team said "VER with you now" and HAM really wanted to exactly pinpoint VER position, he could have glanced in his mirror for a fraction of a second even before entering the chicane..

And it's of course doubtful that HAM can enter the exact same chicane and leave enough room for NOR, see @0:13:
(apparently HAM didn't have an issue seeing NOR, but I don't hear Pobst about that)

But apparently not enough room when VER sits in the same position as NOR when entering the chicane. (see @3:03)

So Pobst argument of HAM not seeing VER or not knowing he's there is imho absolute moot.
And HAM&NOR passing next to eachother through the same chicane without NOR being forced on that sausage curb proves that there is enough room for 2 cars in that chicane, unless 1 driver decides not to.

I wonder if HAM decided the right thing colliding with VER, and VER extending his lead by 2 points but having 3 gridplaces penalty.
HAM came right out of the pits with 100% new tyres. In the chicane just after the start, while leaving enough room for NOR, HAM still came out fastest.
So I don't see how this would go different with VER.
So I think HAM made the wrong bet, with both having a good chance coming fastest out of the chicane like what happened with NOR, and coming just from the pit, maybe being faster than VER in general on that first lap so if not faster through that chicane, maybe oppertunity to pass him anyway, being right behind VER.

But eventually we"ll see in Sochi if VER takes a new PU and see the results (I think HAM also still needs to take a new PU)

And....

What was HAM doing at Silverstone while he rammed MAX in the wall with 51 G and while MAX was carried to the hospital ?

Mike: ''We only judge on the incident not the aftermath'' what a nose pick he is, also didn't reply to RB when asked if Checo needed to hand place back to Lec then stuffed him too and lied about how Christian H asked him.

Villeneuve supports Max in that no penalty should have been given.''they gave him a penalty because a tyre was over Ham's head,so you get penalty for the consequences? Not what Masi was saying''.

You are confusing yourself now. If Max had taken the turn wide (like Leclerc did later and went off the track) at Copse then he would have lost the position and Ham knew he had to take that trajectory to remain on the track ahead so positioned himself for a hit. It's ''simple'' but you don't want to accept it.

HAM knew that MAX's tyres were warmer , so MAX had more grip at that moment ...

That's why HAM knew he would lose it from MAX , and he just closed the door by going extremely wide and pushed MAX over the sausage curb.

What gets me though is Ham knew this with his well practiced over the years 'defence driving' and knew Max would be launched in those circumstances.
The stewards have overreacted with Max's penalty comparing with what happened at the BGP.

Do you think Max will have new engine in Sochi if the penalty is not rescinded?
