leaf blower for car and snow ?

Friends, so last year saw me in advertently scratch the bejeezus out of my car bodywork, luckily my detailer, pulled all of thoes out.

So ticket for not clearing snow or saving bodywork, (come April my car condition made me cry )

So I was thinking, either just clearing the roof and windows and driving or something else.

Soft brushes are good and all, but dont work for thick heavy snow.

I'm aiming for a leaf blower (but also for the following reasons)

(in order of priority)
FIRST > Cleaning Snow off Car
SECOND > Detailing, cleaning off the water.
Third > Cleaning Minimal snow fall
Fourth > Minimal yard work

So please give us your suggestions, Battery ? Gas ? Electric ?

Wont be able to test snow till season starts, so may have to wait ?

I've seen the Ryobi 40v 110MPH 525CFM, but it's had some mixed reviews, mainly you need to lock the turbo button down with only about 15 min. battery life, and though it takes a 40v battery (which I have) it apparently was changed in design, so need to ring there 1-800 number.

HD would take it back if it didnt fit, unit is about $187

OH I understand a blower wont (may not) help to remove thick heavy snow, but at least If my car needs a quick blowjob in the middle of the night I can run out and give it one

I mean I can grab the leaf blower if there is a snow storm and blow all the light snow off easily and quickly.
Also easily to keep in the car when I hae to leave work, I can just blow snow off

Battery all the way but do you have an existing tool se tthat uses batteries or if not, what will future tools be that you may need. you're effectively buying into an ecosystem, like cameras with changeable lenses, you're buying into the lens system, here it is a battery system.

Don't write off WORX, i say that because the trimmer is excellent and their customer service is outstanding.

That's the problem isn't it.

I've got a RYobi 18v and also 40v (for the snow blower) so I already have an existing battery and charger. 5Ah, its a heavy old beast.

The 18v was for the nail gun.

Hence why I'm looking, the price is for the tool only, if my battery doesnt fit or work, it's going back

I have quite a few of the older Ryobi tools and batteries, and they work fine for moderate tasks. However, battery technology has improved, voltages have increased for larger devices (lawnmowers, etc.), and many newer tools use brushless motors that draw less power.

As a homeowner it is hard for me to justify getting rid of the older battery operated tools because they still work fine for most tasks. In fact, I just used my old Ryobi right angle drill yesterday. It burned through a battery fairly quickly while drilling holes in floor joists for electrical wiring, but I’ve got at least 3 other charged batteries ready to swap.

A leaf blower is the way to go for drying off a car, it helps avoid swirl marks. Not so much for snow, it cannot beat a shovel for the task but will move leaves.

Too late since you already have it, but I own that exact leaf blower. I can't comment on snow as I haven't had to blow snow with it. Regular stuff like leaves and dirt etc it works great. I find it actually works better than my gas powered stihl blower which I use for really big projects. The ryobi definitely has more power.

However after 2 years of owning it the handle broke off. It just seperated where the horizontal part meets the vertical part. It's suppose to have a 5 year warranty but it's always a pain to deal with that.

For drying the car it's ok. I have a masterblaster and that has kind of made everything else meh. The car needs to be ceramic coated at the very least and it's kind of bulky to be swinging it around the car in some of the angles needed to get everywhere. It's better than nothing though.

I’ve got the same Ryobi blower, and it’s great for yard work, but for drying the car I go back to my plug-in Toro leaf blower.

The Ryobi has too large of an outlet, so you get a ‘wider/milder’ airflow - great for yards, but velocity is what moves water off of a car.

With the Toro I can completely dry the car (ok, 99.5%). With the Ryobi there’s still a bit of water left on panels which needs to be mopped up with a microfiber towel.

I have an EGO blower, I think the 560 CFM one. I'm able to blow off my driveway (2 inches or less accumulation) on one charge. If it's wet and slushy snow no chance. For drying a vehicle it works great but I still have to wipe some spaces down with a towel.

These blowers also work great if your kids want to put random objects/balls in them or on top of the outlet and turn it on. Lots of laughs.

The new brushless motor 60v blowers are so powerful and the battery lasts a long time.

I bought mine a couple of years ago and it's a game changer vs weaker battery blowers. The damn thing can move small rocks!

Here's my model. It's expensive but worth it. Most of the major brands have a 50 or 60v brushless motor blower. I highly recommend the DeWalt but you have options.

Nothing wrong with Ryobi. My son-in-law has that brand for his power stuff. He was at the house and I let him try my DeWalt blower. His reaction was, "Damn, this thing is no joke." He couldn't believe how powerful it is.

I've got Dewalt trimmer, circular saw, drill, chain saw, pole trimmer (chain saw), and blower. They are all great products.

I'm the same with ryobi. Since I have so much ryobi shit I just keep buying ryobi so I have all the batteries I could need. I have never had an issue with any of my ryobi stuff except that blower with the broken handle.

a question I was wondering what does LENGTH and also a NOZZLE have as an effect on either

1> snow
2> drying the car

I saw some YT vids with these STUBBY nozzles, cant find any for mine I can find a nozzle

I'me guessing a NOZZLE, will concentrate the air flow, making it more powerfull ?

What happens if I "CUT" the existing tube to make it "stubbier" and then put this nozzle on ?

does it have any effect on "power output" air flow

I'm guessing it makes it harder to clear the snow from a distance?

Take a look at the toro 60 volt blowers.
Plenty of power and line of other tools in large.
I have both a 40 and 60 and like the 60 much better.
They also make multipule size batteries if you want longer run time.

How do you keep the nozzle on the stubby, when you run out at night to blowjob your car?

I use my (gas) blower more on cars than on the driveway. It's good that I'm already deef in the right ear though. . .
