Yeah, there's this huge ball and everyone is crawling around like crabs and you must kick the ball while remaining grounded keeping your hands on the floor-no one gets hurt-all you can do is advance the ball.

Yeah I've seen the movie, it's a classic, my younger brother used to watch that movie ALL the time. I agree it's not a "sport", and I think everyone else here agrees with that. It was still fun to play, and I didn't pick on the weak kids(I was small and a shrimp, but still athletic) I liked to go for the hard targets lol

Dodgeball was always the idiot bully type kids havijg fun being able to hit the weak kids with a ball and it being allowed. There wasn't any sport or competition or athletic part to me

But your right this is getting too serious haha. But I would say watch the movie dodgeball it's so very funny because a lot of ppl think like I do and think it's the dumbest "sport" ever that loser tough guys would only enjoy (I don't mean that on you at all I just mean in general!)
confirmed.

you were one of the kids that sucked at dodgeball so you hate it

Yes I did not like it. I think I said that already. Thanks for saying the obvious but trying to make it into an attack lol

But I think I see the pattern that if you like dodge ball then you like to hide behind something either a ball or a computer and attack ppl for no reason probably you are inadequate about something. I'm onto something I think haha

to be fair, im more mellow on the internet than in real life.

dodgeball, like most games, is a competition. Some people enjoy competition and like to win, and some are losers.

I'm cracking up at all of this. I recall playing dodgeball for the first time at church when I was 4. A kid in his teens destroyed me with a ball to the face. Next round, same kid threw the ball so hard at my feet I became inverted and smacked my head off the pavement. My mom threw a fit and went ballistic. For good reason from a mother's perspective. Round 3, it took 4 people to get me off that kid. It was beating from a 4 year old that I can assure you that he never forgot.

Experiences like being "taken out" at dodgeball either make you realize you are small/weak and you do something about it or you become the person that wrote this article while everyone laughs and shakes their head in disbelief.

They still play dodgeball at Skyzone indoor trampoline parks around here.

(<<<old man starts his stretching exercises and getting taped up, checks schedule to see when it opens to go lay some smack down on these kids like old times....hope I don't throw out my shoulder or break a hip.)

I hadn't paid my fees so couldn't play the last time. Plus there was the whole issue of the stink-eye coming off the wife

I watched one of the workers DOMINATE the pit. He had a technique to bounce, while also spinning up maximum centripetal force by extending his throwing arm. He wiped this one little kid who had no business being in said pit. Little kid was all gung-ho to get into it until his brain crashed into his skull at 12g. THEN mom got all worried that maybe he shouldn't have been in the pit.

I use to take my son there when he was younger. The high school kids would show up to try to lay smack on the younger kids. I would then target the high school kids and just decimate them. Walking out my son would have this look of awe in his eyes and I would tell him,"See, I told you dodgeball was my game in school" as we looked back at the carnage of crushed egos left behind. LOL.

Thatís hilarious. I made my comment in jest, but I am, in actuality, serious. Wife and I are talking about starting things up this winter / spring, and weíve already got her a work from home job to facilitate just this (among other things).

Iím honestly a complete miss on whatís going on outside of my direct life. This is the only online thing I get onto outside of work and havenít cranked up TV except to watch a ball game in years. My reason is for instances exactly like this thread topic. It just gets more out of control each day. Ignorance is bliss I say!

Tv is certainly not doing you any favors, so good on you. Need to cut down myself.

God bless, and best of luck to you and yours.

There is so much more in life-learning that happens at school OUTSIDE of books, it's important.

Unless your kids are going into the family business and don't need to interact with anyone else.
