I think the list is good for ideas, but not the ultimate decision...

if you can modify a theme or come up with something not on the list, that's great, but if you just leave a generic list that is wide open, you will see a million ideas.

I want to say 4, but then we run into people slacking on starting a new contest. so then we end up a week later with a new start, like you said before, there should be a time limit on decision making.

well how about this?

10 day submission period, 3 day vote, 1 day buffer and a rule that says if your contest isn't up by day 15 @ 12pm EST then the contest theme will be made up by the last person who won (or we could do the person who came in 2nd place)?

either way would work.

i'd probably go for the 2nd place person since the other person didn't participate in their own contests, so that they don't get booted out of 2 contests in a row.

Here's what we were talking about in the other thread...just wanted to reiterate

8 days to submit
4 days to vote
2 days for new theme


Basically, submissions start on a Saturday and end the following Sunday. Then voting begins by Monday and ends on Thursday. That gives the winner until Saturday morning to put up a new one.

If you guys agree, should we just vote on this current contest till Saturday and start a new one on Sunday?

I could start the next contest just to get the system in effect. If we wait till the next contest, it'll be harder to implement/people will get lazy.

i'm down but lets finish this up before we start the new one. I like the 2 day grace period too in case we have a tie and need a 24 hr lightning round.
