Gotta use a broad wire brush to get the undercoat out for the shep-they shed that in quantity through the summer so brush them at least twice weekly. They shed in tufts as I recall.

I don't bathe her frequently. She doesn't smell. Should I be giving her regular baths? I've been using this to brush her it's called the FURminator

Let's talk about dog poop

So Lucy only eats blue buffalo chicken and rice. I rarely give her any treats and certainly no table scraps. Even if her poop bakes in the sun for a week I try to scoop it up and it still mushy in the middle and smears into the grass. Anything I can do a firm her poop up?

We give our dogs pumpkin. You can buy cans at the grocery but just make sure it is pure pumpkin and NOT pumpkin pie filling. Our dog is small, 14 pounds and one teaspoon with her meal keeps everything nice and firm...

Got our second black lab puppy 3 weeks ago.

Her name is Bella.

Which is short for Bela Lugosi given her penchant for biting.

We had a black lab pup named Bella. The crazy ex-wife named her after the chick in the Twilight movies though. Glad that bitch is gone now.......the ex-wife, not the dog.

Yeah, but did you wear the sleeve like a pansy or just go au naturel?

I'm surprised on a serious note though - so the training was effective such that even though you are her owner, she still went for the takedown?

Interesting. What was the training and how long did it take / cost?

Interesting. Pumpkin is what we give our dogs when they are constipated. Guess it works both ways? That's one amazing gourd!

Hahaha, might have the opposite affect!! But seriously keep in mind how small teaspoon is so that might not be a bad guess. Our little dog only eats 2/3 of a cup of food daily so...

The pumpkin was recommended by our vet as this was our second dog and she was always a bit skittish being number two. This lead to some tummy issues including diarrhea. Vet recommend the pumpkin and it tightened her right up. She's now 10 so been on it a long time now...

They both did as a matter of fact. One knew she was in trouble when she bit me and I was "in" trouble when the other bit me. Difference was that the short fury one, on all fours always, bit hard and left marks when she bit me.....the dog never bit me hard enough to leave marks.

I've got some serious garage/car envy this morning now. I do think I'll have a frito bandito in my near future......thanks Nick.

side note: A few of those pictures are about 20 minutes from my house. The killboy shots are great. I regret never hitting the dragons tail in the E93 for this reason alone.

?

We all wore a sleeve. It still hurts sometimes. I’m not the handler. I think he was gone for three months for training. The dog was already trained. The dog will go after whoever the handler tells him to go after. I had a dog way early in my career. I’m too old now. I don’t want to do it anymore.

I play with this dog 3-4 days a week, the dog plays with my pet Husky and my daughter (I take the dog when the handler goes on vacation, saves on boarding costs) but the second he gave the command to get me, the dog got me.
