*** Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #40: Evoke an emotion ***

*** Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #40: Evoke an emotion ***

BACKGROUND:

Contest 40 - I thought I'd ask for something a little different and it's also something broad that anyone can enter.

THEME:

This is all about the viewer and what emotion/feeling they get when viewing the photo you submit - it could be something that makes them happy, sad , envious or maybe even aroused!!. There are so many feelings/emotions to play with on this one.

It's about generating that emotion/feeling for the viewer.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Sunday, Aug 14th @ 11:59 GMT. Voting begins the following day and ends on Friday, Aug 21st.

RULES:

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome.
2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
3. One submission per contest, and you cannot resubmit a photo that you've submitted before in a previous contest.
4. Images must be no larger than 800 px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 800 px for the poll.
5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost).
6. All images must have a title.
7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

Paul, I think people should get two weekends to submit. It gives those people who are busy during the week ample opportunity to not be lazy and go out and shoot.

Nice theme.

I think you're right...I was actually going back through all the previous posts and saw that. At some point, I was thinking about putting all the previous idea's in one post, so people would see what's been done so far.

This one could require a pic that stirs an emotion in the viewer, but that wouldn't be too hard for Dave to win. His pics always result in waves of envy for me.

Thanks for putting all the contests in one thread! Yeah so we've done emotion before. My apologies.

This one is particularly about evoking an emotion in the viewer rather than an emotion in the photo (not to say both can be done at the same time!) but without looking at the last "emotion", It's probably still similar. I'm abroad soon and out over the weekend so lets leave it the same but say that any pics entered in that contest cannot be entered in this one.

Rule 8. Exclude Dave

Question on #7, "removing parts" full frame or can the image be cropped?

It's ok to crop. You just can't PS something or someone out of the image.

I suppose it would be mean to just post an 800x600 neutral gray frame and title it: "Apathy".

Just make sure you take a pic of one, and not use photoshop to create it.

"Wish i could live longer..."

So do I; he's coming up on 12 years old towards the end of this year.

Is this too large? I have a hard time telling what size the pics are.....

If you get between 500-900 on the long side you would be good for size. Keep him warm and inside, lots of bones too.
