Going to try to go pheasant hunting tomorrow. If I'm shooting at them, they'll live. If the guy I'm going with is shooting at them, we'll have pheasant to take home.
I don't think this website has the study you are looking for but they have great details on firearms and cite all of their sources: https://www.gunfacts.info/research/c...s-and-control/

If you're looking for recommendations for a home defense shotgun I'd go with a Benelli M4 every time.

I would agree with the M4, over the TS12.

If those were the two options for an HD shot gun, M4 every time.

I have both, I have not taken the TS12 to the range yet. My understanding is that the TS12 is a little more particular with the ammo that it likes, the M4 with its gas system has less trouble with that.

The M4 has very straight forward controls, the TS12 you would have to train with a bit more. Which brings me to the real reason that the M4 is the better choice. Training with your gun. In urban and suburban areas it is difficult to train/practice with a HD shot gun. There are often gun clubs and ranges where you can shoot clays, but HD shot guns are often not allowed. You have go to a rifle range to pattern a shotgun, but thats not really going to get you used to your HD shotgun, or even get it broken in.

Get something that you will learn how to use in the dark. In my experience HD shotguns are the least fired of all of my guns. I keep a handgun in a safe by the bed, mainly for safe storage with kids running around, a shotgun is most definitely a superior HD weapon.

I third for the M4.

My experience with bullpups is they get hot really fast. Now thats likely not going to be an issue if its strictly a home defense shotgun because you wont be continuously firing it, but if you plan to range shoot it will be an issue. It has steered me away from wanting a bullpup all together.

Went pheasant hunting yesterday (first time hunting). Flushed one, pointed, pulled and "click". Not boom...click. I looked at the other guy and said I was 95% certain I had put one in the action and two in the tube and he said he watched me do that and agreed.

So I 100% verified I put one in the action, two in the tube, fully racked and we flushed another one. Again "click"...not boom. Pumped it, pulled the trigger, then boom.

WTF? Is this firing pin related? I don't think so, because we did it again, and it wouldn't fire the first (tried different ammo) but would fire the second. Its a Benelli supernova.

The click is super frustrating to hear btw when you are tracking the bird. We wound up switching guns and I got a pheasant later.

Anything but that. The two screws that stick out on the top are also fugly.

To quote a local, "I don't know anyone who wants a grip safety on internal hammer or striker fired pistols, didn't they realize that from the weak sales of the first EZ pistol? I don't know anyone who likes the trigger on the first EZ pistol, why bring it back after releasing the crowd pleasing flat face trigger on the Shield Plus?

The slide serrations are impractical, at least their previous line of M&P pistols had the cool slide serrations that looked like overlapping dragon scales...but this new iteration with U cuts is just a poor imitation of the Springfield Armory design. Thats probably where they hijacked the idea for this gun.

I've heard critics say the EZ pistol is meant for first time gun owners...so its great they made an EZ thats double stack and easier to grip, but then they remove the manual safety that most new gun owners want, and they make the gun so light it hurts to shoot at the range. Why?"

This shield looks fine, most S&W designs are just fine:

It really does look like they copied the SA:

It looks like a Kriss Vector to me. They are cool guns.

Wonder what it's chambered for - guessing 9mm, but maybe .45. Be expensive to run .45 though.

9mm, good eye! I prefer 9 since I've got quite a few guns that are 9 and it's just easier/cheaper to find ammo for.

Saw that the other day. I run one on my 8" 300BLK that I keep in a backpack. Might have to give it a try.

Sounds like a perfect candidate, a fun compact quiet boy. Save you a few secs from unfolding the stock and going straight to business.
