Gorgeous colour! Is yours a 2.5 litres petrol engine with 218 bhp? I just have mine 2 weeks ago in Sparkling Graphite and black leather interior with aluminium trim with iDrive and GPS. Mine is a six-speed auto transmission with Sports mode and six-speed steptronic. I don't quite understand what do you mean by "flatspots"? Can you eleborate on that? BTW, I have not fully explored the whole range of the rpm as I'm still running in. But I'm already enjoying every moment with the car, the power and torque even before reaching 4500 rpm. |

Dynamics,
Yes it is the 2.5l petrol with 218bhp. I think it's only in the states/n.america that the 325 is a 3 litre... Hmmm - how to describe flatspots? When you're accelerating you feel the power and speed building as the revs rise. But on mine (and some others in the uk) there seems to be a point (at about 3,200rpm) where the acceleration rate drops and the picks up again as you move the revs through the flatspot. Does this help explain it? |

16 inch with sports suspension
Steve, how is the ride with the 16 inch wheels and sports suspension?? I'm choosing between 325i and 320d , what's your opinion on the 320d on ride, handling and comfort.

Hey Silvestro, actually one person more who loves the 160-style-rims. But don't forget: 160-alloys are only available in 17''. One advice: If a smooth and comfortable ride is more important to you than a nice appearance and an awesome style, don't hesitate and order 16 inch wheels. Thanks to my mistakes it hardly can be hidden, that I am an EU resident which means that in my area the 320d is on sale. For me there was no alternative to the new, light and economic R6 engine, however, the 320d goes better than I'd have expected and it is suitable for long motorway trips and more or less for most of narrow and hilly roads (the torque kicks ass, makes you accelerating impressively fast at lower speeds and gears or when starting from 0 - also from 50 to 100, the acceleration from 130kmh onwards is rather worth not to be mentioned). To me it seemed to be even more handy and direct than my 325i (I drove the 320d for about 4 days when my car was at the dealership for service) And just keep in mind that you will have to get rid of your ride one day: diesel engines reach a higher mileage than their gasoline siblings, furthermore the residual value is much higher. Since you are from Sweden, there is another K.O. criterion for the 2.5L-engine: for the small diesel engine you don't have to pay that "special tax", do you? I addition, in your small kingdom you are "kindly asked" not to go faster than 130kmh, in conclusion I can't see any arguments in favour of the 325i. PS: Nexus66, do you get the titanium gearlever and titanium steering wheel for free, when opting the sporting-package? - because I only got a bloody plastic gearlever and a lousy scum steering wheel which looks cheaper than a FIAT's... shame on BMW. No wonder that the torch doesn't come for free anymore "taking is better than giving", actually this hits BMW's mentality best. PS: Pls correct my mistakes, I am keen on not making them anymore.. Yes, 320d is definetely great car. But what about the noise? I've been driving a diesel car for last 4 years and I'm realy looking forward to get rid of it. I've tried 320d several times, as it was my original choice, though the noise is much lower than of my current TDI, it's still too noisy. And the soundtrack of 325i is much much nicer. |

The faltspots go away with increasing miles (I'm now at 5000 miles and no problem). The flatspots are also much worse with 95 RON fuel and much less noticable with Shell Optimax 98 RON. As the miles build up the problem goes away. )

I found the same on a back to back test of 320d/325i ... 325 sounds fantastic. 320d is a fun drive through.

or you buy the lovely 325i - which is designed for people who can estimate both, great engineering and stunning performance - and which is supposed to make the driver's heart beat faster To be honest, the 325i is worth it's price but the cheaper alternative still is the 320d. Just have a look at the company fleets.. have you ever seen a fleet-325i... no.. for the simple reason that when using the calculator the only real deal is 320d |

Astonished? Nexus' 325i is one of the very rare and precious "325i-M-special-edition"! (for milkmen - so that they needn't get off their cars anymore when distributing bottles to clients Or maybe a prototype which was accidentally sold to a BMW enthusiast.. Questions .. questions.. but actually no answer °g° |
