Dropped it off at the dealer to get them to try and diagnose my low boost problems after I tried the easy and obvious fixes, and didn’t hear anything from them today so I guess they are confused by it too.
Thankful they have a loaner, but I can confidently say I will never own an X1 in the future- I know it’s the entry level offering but dang, feels super cheap inside. People complain about F30’s (which I actually think is built fairly well) but all the the buttons, the steering wheel, and the seats were awful, like American car bad in some places. Also was massively disappointed by the new iDrive- CarPlay kept on crashing, the wireless charger (the one with the retaining bar) kept overheating my newer iPhone and couldn’t keep it charged, I couldn’t even run maps and music without significant CarPlay lag, even while not charging. I’ve driven a lot of cars with factory CarPlay and this was by far the least reliable and most laggy. Also the auto start stop is super aggressive, like cutting off multiple times pulling into the garage aggressive. Add that up with the lack of hard buttons and lack of easy dimming for the screens at night, and though the screen seems high quality I think I’d almost take the CIC iDrive over this new one (let alone NBT or similar!). I’m sure the 3 and 5 series are a bit better but was very underwhelmed with what BMW is doing in 2024 with their compact SUVs |

Today and over the past few days. . .
Turned another milestone today. Almost exactly 5 years and 2 months old and hits 60k miles this morning. That's a daily, alright.
Cleaned and coated her and mounted the bike rack over the weekend. Time to sell . . . ? Nope.

Got the transmission service done on the 435i at 73K. I debated over this for a while but happy I got it done. Shifts are much smoother, even when cold.

Really like your M3 cluster. I hate how busy the speedometer is on american cars. Did you get that adapter to translate the gear from your auto trans so the cluster displays properly?

I did get the adapter for the gear indicator. Works like a charm. I wish the redline indicators worked more like they would on a manual, but. . . U.S. car and I'm not ready for a manual swap.

I haven’t even used the Android portion, which I think will be fantastic- always in a hurry so CarPlay is what I use |

Ceramic coated my new Aodhan AH11s with gyeon Q2 Rim Evo. Glad I did it with the wheels off as I definitely would have messed up some of the more intricate and hard to reach spots if they were on the car. Hope to install this weekend!

It's the Thule fairing. If you go slowly, the plastic screws come out of the mounting points and plastic endplates (and if you don't, Thule sells replacements); then you can flip the center section over so the giant "Thule" logo painted onto it is on the back, and voila. I was going to switch to OEM or Thule aero bars, but I can't fit four fork-mount rails on those, so I kept the square bars I've used on my last three German wagons.
