Ha!

But seriously though. What about when I travel domestically? Is it worth picking up a bottle at the airport or not?

Thumbs up

Gotta get my hands on some of this...

I follow them on social media and saw this today. The description is soooo delicious!

First aged in American Oak, ex- Bourbon casks, it is then transferred to four different types of Sherry Casks: Fino, Pedro Ximenez, Cream, and Palo Cortado, where it is aged for an additional 18 months. Bottled at 45% ABV, Sherry Cask is smooth and fruity on the nose and has an extremely long, velvety finish.

I am not sure about that, I'll try it next time I travel and let you know.

Doing a "sober October" over here. This was a poor choice on my part. Oh, well. Hopefully there will still be some reasonably fresh Marzen beers left at the end of the month...

On the plus side, come October 31 having been dry for a full month, you'll make a perfect monster for Halloween. A very bitter salty one, but you won't need to pretend at all. Just be yourself.

November 1st will come and it will be like the Snickers commercial, but with beer.

Do you drink in excess during the other eleven month of the year? Do you think taken a month off from drinking will make an impact on your health in the overall scheme of things?

I don't see any reason that it wouldn't. The question would really be: how much does it help?

Taking a month off is roughly equivalent to anthropomorhic global warming???

Asking for a drunken friend who is on call and can't drink for 2 weeks.

Even keel mate. The body doesn’t like guardrail to guardrail behavior.

Well, I'm not sure going from averaging 3-4 beers a week to not drinking at all for a month qualifies as "guardrail to guardrail", but OK.

Yeah, this is really more of an exercise in self-control than anything.

Evidently "sober October" is a "thing". My wife went on the wagon for good in March, so I'm learning lots of trivia about the sober community.

Why did your wife completely quit drinking? Was it for medical reasons?

Nope, she was just unhappy with her relationship to booze. Her dad was an addict of several substances, including alcohol, so she's always been very sensitive/self-aware of how she interacts with alcohol. Almost every single one of our friends reacted with a "Really? You drink less than I do!" when she started telling people she was done. It's all about the individual in most cases. Not everyone hits "rock bottom" before they change.

I polished off the 1792 tonight. It's growing on me. I may try it again when we get back from our trip in next week.
