Yep, I think an early spring has come.

Not that it was bad here in SoCal, anyway.

Awesome late-spring-like day forecast here today, but lots of green on the weather radar tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day.....

So decided to fly out to San Diego from Charlotte for a few days on a whim, used to work here, can work from hotel and go to the beach after work. Went to Coronado beach. And then remembered why living in Charlotte is let's just say easier. That beach life tho….

Sunny and 50's F here again today.

I turned off the oil-fired boiler yesterday afternoon, after noticing that the sun raised the inside temperature by 3 F. This morning, the inside temperature was only 2F lower than the thermostat's (disabled) set point despite being in the 30's F outside overnight. Me thinks that I'm going to leave it off, and see if heating season is truly over.....

Your summer weather is better than mine. I've seen 116F here. What's your hottest temp? Somewhere in the 80s, maybe 90s, I'd imagine. Lucky SOB.

I don't see 90's here lol. If we do, it'll be some record breaking heat day lol.

But it's chilly and windy in the "wintertime"? When it's in the 50's

Well, I guess it's officially spring now. They got four bulldozers out here breaking down the giant wall they build every year for the winter. Keep the water out from reaching the homes.

And then a photo of some Karen's stopping a bulldozer. $50 bucks they're complaining about the noise

Landlubber here, what's the reasoning behind building up the shore in the winter where it doesn't see ice?

Also, forecast for here is... ice.

The water rises in the winter and can make it up past the beach (sand) all the way to the homes. It's only in certain sections - mostly the area closer to ocean water runoff and the houses that are on the beach or boardwalk.

It's like a mini Great Wall of China. In the winter but it's still kinda neat. All the kids come out with sleds. It's just brown snow.

Damn, I went to google maps to pull up a pic but I'll be damned. You can actually see "the Great Wall of sand" from space. If you zoom in on the sand you can make out the wall and how far it goes lol

When summer comes on the ocean, so do hurricanes and storm surges. The dunes are the main line of defense.....

Yeah boardwalk / bike path / aka Shoei get hit twice from behind by those fucking e-bikes. I don't have an issue with them but maybe shouldn't be going WOT on a fucking pedestrian path.

In case anyone is wondering, if you get hit in the left buttcheek by a fast moving bike? Yeah, whenever I sit down it feels like my grandpas wallet is in my back pocket. You know, the wallets that are bulging cuz there's receipts in their from 1962? And 1057 business cards? Well that's what it feels like currently. Fucking giant wallet in my back left pocket.
