125 years old and still in use, the 36 inch telescope at the James Lick Observatory on top of Mt Hamilton California. The whole thing looks like it came right out of a Jules Verne novel.

I'm going to have fun with this TS lens this summer in Chicago and Boston. It's insanely sharp and it's surprisingly easy to square up buildings. This was handheld, manual focus (of course). This is Booth Library at EIU where Wifey works. I was maybe 35-40 ft from the building.

- TS lens is awesome and addictive! Speaking of TS lenses, Mark I know you saw this on POTN but for the Bimmerpost crowd, I shot this 2 nights ago with the TS-E 17. I was going for the artistic look and continue to learn and play with the Tilt function... Sammael Artistic 2 by ddk632, on Flickr |

That's my goal, to get into tilt and shift at the same time. And some shifted panos. Also some serious deep DOF shots. There's a kid named Jordan Marsh over on POTN that is an absolute wizard with the TS lenses (and lots of other glass). His landscapes are gallery worthy stuff.

I got the 17mm ts at Christmas and have hardly used it. I just haven't had time to learn the thing yet. I hope to take it into San Francisco soon.
This week, I'm all alone at home, and working 10 hour days, so I made a giant pot of chili for dinner all week. How sad Chili Dinner by lennycarl08, on Flickr |
