Hello,

With the G80 ending production in February 2027, does that mean the next generation M3 will launch in 2028 as a MY29?

I’m a dope, so please humor me:

M2 with XDrive for 2026, but NOT as a “CS” correct?

I had it in my head for some reason that if M2 was going to have XDrive it would have to be a CS model

Edit: read some older post and this appears to be the case… never mind

I greatly look forward to 2028 and the next round of M3 and M4 (if the M4 exists then). If I don't like that model either, it's likely the end of my BMW run after 25+ years. I hope the new design team creates a nice-looking car again.

I see you're behaving exactly like any Russian citizen is expected these days: the war is none of your business.

To answer your question: the illegal annexation of Crimea was the first step in the process that resulted, among other things, in BMW halting its exports to Russia.

One of the most fun things I see in BMW data these days is the repeated postponement of the resumption of official Russia builds further and further into the future.

Are there any word on which EU diesel models will end? It’s surprises me as diesel is still quite a popular choice in the EU. I couldn’t understand the diesel saloon/estate vehicles being stopped.

I can't give you any guarantees here but I think if I say "all of them", I won't be far from the truth.

The iX1 is getting a drive train update in 3/26? Also with a larger battery? And when can the LCI be ordered?

Updates don't always mean functional improvements that can be perceived by the driver.

LCI is more than 2 years away in 2027. First, let's make sure the world hasn't ended by then.

I think it'll all depends on how many diesels will be sold in the next two years.

I read that even in nothern Europe, diesel engines are the most choosen for a new purchase, lately, which is in constrast to what happened in the last years over there, where electric and plug in cars where the favorites. Let's see what happens. Hope diesels to survive 'till the real end.

Citation needed? Certainly not Norway, and e.g. in Germany BEV sales overtook diesel sales again in September 2024 (16.5% vs. 14.9%), while PHEV is number one (36.1%) before gasonline (32.1%). And I think Germany is among the most Diesel-loving countries in Europe (myself included).

I thought I'd read that most of the diesel range would be getting updated to EU7 compliance. I also thought BMW had said X models at least would run well into the next decade.

Let's hope they continue as the newest diesels are some of the cleanest engines on the market. They get such an awful press it's unreal.

I was also under the impression that the EU7 standard had been watered down somewhat.

In the top post, you still have the following two items, I guess they will no longer happen?

Quote:
G20/G21 3er
* 11/25: In EU, all diesel engines will be brought to EU7 compliance.
[...]
G22/G23 4er
* 03/26: In EU, all diesel engines will be brought to EU7 compliance.

BMW can and will make some of their diesels EU7 complaint but it feels like they're just losing interest in making the effort.

So is there any information, if BMW is planning to put into G70 7 series 340+ hp diesel, because current is only 300 hp((
