Long Beach Blue and Misano when you have Marina Bay and San Marino in the arsenal.

They are awful. Misano hides all the lines, just look at it on the X2.

But the specs look good for the CS. Thanks for the info. Alpine White it is then.

No weight savings with the CS, bummer. I guess I'll be content with my 446 hp/3450 lb wannabe CSL and potentially wait for the next gen M2.

While I am definitely not interested in the color.... A Misano Blue M2 will be instantly recognizable as an M2 CS... so there is that..
Personally.. I find Misano Blue (aka peacock blue) even LESS attractive than LBB.... it's on the X2 which is also made in Leipzig.. and it looks like they dropped Sunset Orange to accommodate it for this model.

CosmosMpower did you get the slow model or are you now waiting for the M2 CS?

Gatte I think you may owe me a beer....

The Misano Blue might actually look good on the M2 CS.

So is the car that will finally get you to sell your 1M.

To be perfectly honest I had given up on BMW just in the last 60 days.

I had decided the 1M is a keeper- M2 is nice but not compelling , same for M2 Comp... and I will create a dedicated track car ( spec E46 more than likely ) for track duty.

While I hadn't begun building I already even located a donor car for my track project.

With the announcement of a 6 MT CS, I am very much in , although price is a concern with all BMW CS products to date. The M3 CS and M4 CS were simply horrible values.

My biggest M2 CS concerns..

1 - oil cooler placement
2- electric power steering
3 - price

I'm not sure I'm willing to give up the manual rack, so Whether or not to give up the 1M is still a question .. I probably will try to keep it and order a CS and now this may put my track car project back on the shelf as I would definitely track an M2 CS and would feel better about doing that than the 1M which is a pretty much a collector item now.

EDIT- just messaged my CA to ensure my spot on the list.

The OP says July for the F40 and I think prevailing rumor says late in the year for the F44. It would be nice to have a more exact date for the latter.

The 2GC could be one of the more interesting launches to watch in some time since it is still largely unknown (even here on Bimmerpost, you still see lots of posts from members who don't understand the product) and appears to be on almost no one's radar. It is going to come as a surprise to most consumers, I suspect, and I have no idea how many of these BMW expects to sell. The impression I get is that they've sort of been forced into this segment kicking and screaming by their German competitors, and it almost feels like they'd rather keep the car a secret, hoping consumers in the US either buy an X1, X2, or 3 Series instead.

The official launch for the new 1er Sporthatch will be in Late May - 25/05.
Shaping up quite nicely.

I doubt that the US will see the new one series. For some reason BMWNA doesn’t like hatchbacks.

Which is why I'm signing up for an M140i 6MT right now.

Wait, you mean they don't like hatchbacks unless they're installed on a gargantuan 3-series or 5-series "GRAN TURISMO"? Why those are perfectly fine to have one but BMW screams at thought of offering the 1-series 3-door and 5-door cars because "hatchback" is truly insane. It's a catch, a hook, to divert people's thoughts in another direction while the true reason remains hidden.

But we are all aware of the fact that both the new M135i and M235i will have no more than 300/310hp. So, the real hot hatch battle, with more than 400hp, will be only an Audi/MB affair. It's a shame.

I would have made also a "real" BMW M1 starting from the F20. It would have been, in my opinion, better than the M2.

True, unless they offer a high performance PHEV with the 300hp B48 plus an extra electric motor. They already have a lower output version in the 225xe iPerformance Active Tourer, for instance.

M3 CS and M4 CS: expensive, not particularly Spartan, but a good piece of kit tooled together by BMW M. I'm also genuinely interested in the M2 CS.
Van Meel said that the CSL designation will replace GTS on the four-rung hierarchy of M cars, which starts with the base model then progresses to Competition Pack, CS, then CSL. Like the GTS, CSLs will be BMW M's most hardcore offerings.
«CSL [will be] the top-of-the-line track tool, made on the track for the track, just with a number plate,» Van Meel said. With a CSL, you can expect cup tires, coilover suspension, a roll cage, water injection, and a fire extinguisher. Van Meel says that the CS on the other hand is «also a track tool, but with four seats,» and more emphasis on comfort.
