In my personal automotive journey of many years, I have considered the Corvette only briefly; I'm firmly in the BMW camp for the past 30 years. But I have to admit that various Corvettes are very good-looking cars. The 1963 Stingray got my attention, of course. But I thought the C6 'Vette was awfully good-looking.

1933 Cadillac 452-C Sixteen Fleetwood phaeton -- This one's got patina.
The V-16 engine displaces 7.4 liters (452 cubic inches) and puts out 165 hp.

When I did a series of posts on Ferraris through the years a while ago, I omitted an important model: The Ferrari 599GTB Fiorano and the two special derivatives of that car.
The Ferrari 599GTB was the large front mid-engine 6-liter V-12-powered two-seat model from the marque. It was related to the 2+2 612 Scaglietti but sportier and more powerful. The 599's V-12 was rated at 611 naturally aspirated horsepower and the car was one of Ferrari's highest-performing models during its 2006 to 2011 production run. About 7,000 were built -- and only 30 of those were equipped with 6-speed gated manual transmissions. Like some other models of the era, enterprising owners and shops have converted some cars to manual since, but the numbers are tiny any way you look at it. In 2010, Ferrari introduced two special models based on the 599GTB. One was the 599GTO -- the third Ferrari model to bear the famous GTO badge. This GTO had the same 6-liter V-12 as the GTB but massaged for 661 hp. 559 GTOs were produced, all in 2010. Considerably more exclusive was the other special model, the 599SA Aperta, which was essentially a convertible version of the GTO and featured the same 661 hp engine. The power top was unique -- it "flipped" when retracted. Only 80 Apertas were built, again all in 2010.

While I covered the Ferrari 250GT Europa some time ago, I did not cover its successors, the 250GT Boano and Ellena. The Boano is considered by some to be the first series-produced Ferrari and was built from 1956 to 1957. After 68 were built and delivered, 50 very similar 250GT Ellena cars were produced in 1957 and 1958. The notable difference on the Ellena cars was a higher roof.
The 3.0-liter V-12 engine offered 220 horsepower. As can be seen in the photos, all the cars featured large drum brakes. Note that at the same time that Ferrari offered these touring-oriented GT cars, they also offered the hotter 260 horsepower 250GT Tour de France berlinetta. The difference was that the TdF was more competition-oriented. I've featured the TdF before; TdFs now trade hands in the millions.

Speaking of Ferrari, the latest ad on Ferrarichat.com is a beautiful 2002 360 Modena berlinetta with 6-speed gated manual transmission and just under 25,000 miles on the odometer. The seller says it is NART Blue with "tan" leather (note that Ferrari does not offer a leather color named tan).
The 360 is described in glowing terms and appears to be in very good shape. Issues with an older Ferrari can be very expensive to fix, but this one sounds pretty good. The asking price is US$129,500. Che bella macchina!

Borgward was a lesser-known German auto manufacturer from 1954 to 1962. The company produced a couple of different models, but the main seller was the Isabella, which came in several different body styles. This is an Isabella coupe from 1959, powered by a 1.5-liter four of 75 horsepower.
In 1961 Borgward went bankrupt. The production machinery was sold to a firm in Mexico, which produced a larger/upscale Borgward from 1960 to 1963.
