This marking on a bridge railing caught my eye while in Boston a few weeks ago...

That's funny. I do it sometimes in person, someone says something and I respond, only to realize they were speaking to someone behind me somewhere. Hate when that happens! But yeah welcome back Dave, bring snowed in doesn't sound like fun. And thanks, Mark. Good to be back for me as well. Here's a different subject during a particularly awesome sunset that with the cloud cover made the whole sky golden orange that day: Eye of X6M by ddk632, on Flickr |

Cheetah at full speed. Canon 7D at 1/1600 and F 2.8 (70-200 mm glass) ISO 200. Probably should have gone to an even higher shutter speed as running that fast, the cat is still a bit blurry. If I ever watch this again, I will rent a 1DX. The whole thing was over in less than 5 seconds. Incredible to witness this lady kitty do her stuff!

Oh yeah...
Great action, detail and colors. Looks like you ended up with the right lens. Dave

The obligatory full moon shot. When I first went out to look, there were fast moving clouds scooting by. I ran in to get my camera hoping to get some clouds in the image, but they were gone when I came back.
In any case, this is the 6D with the 400 5.6 + Kenko 1.4x TC for 560mm f8. AF'd fine. ISO 400, 1/640, handheld. This is a 50% crop, reduced to 1024x768.

Too cloudy at my place for a moon shot tonight, maybe tomorrow, although it would be hard to top that one...

Yes the 100-400 worked out quite well. It was actually too long in some instances, but I also had the 5D on hand with the ever trusty 24-105. It was a great day! 20130517-AQ4E7111 by lennycarl08, on Flickr |

Doh! I just saw that you are in Canada, I guess that could make it harder for good deals on used stuff. |

Not really for the used stuff since i got a solid 1000+ feedback ebay account and sellera agree to ship most of the times when they see that.
For the lens rentals, thats a whole different story tho. Theres close to nothing. I was ready to buy a 300mm 2.8G last week. It was at 3k instead of 6; brand new. It didnt stay long on the market but oh well. I would like to get something longer; 400 would be ideal; and I could settle for something slower then 2.8; like 4; but dont want to get a lens too old either. Choices are limited and good deals on quality used lenses even rarer. I'm not in a rush; but am keeping an eye open for deals.
