Kind of off-topic but not entirely: I've always wanted 2 things. A manual M3 with a manual transmission and European Delivery so I could drive it on the Ring and a Speedy Pro. I went with a new M240i convertible instead of the M3 so now its just the watch that I'm missing. So my stupid question is this: is there any benefit (cost savings or experience) to buying a 310.30.42.50.01.001 at the Omega Boutique in Biel at the museum?

There's going to be zero savings to purchasing from the Omega Boutique.
It's not a super rare or limited edition watch, so I'd look at the used market to find a nice used watch for a discount. No sense in paying full retail for a watch that doesn't appreciate in value as soon as you buy it (like the Rolex sport models).

Not on my wrist yet. Ran into this at a local shop yesterday. Was planning on getting a new 310.30.42.50.01.001 later this year (my 1st Speedy) Trying to decide if I'd rather go old school for 1/3 the price of a new.

assuming that's not an OEM strap, i'd negotiate a bigger discount and go for it.
