that's the trick behind vehicles... you gotta pay to play!

i mean, we could all just pick up a used BMX from creigslist for free and ride it to work every day, but we choose to spend money where it isn't really necessary

to some, 80$ at the pump is worth it.

PS. we already pay that in canada on more fuel efficient vehicles now!

to fill up my BMW here in Ontario with 91 octane (haven't even checked what 94 octane costs at the moment) it would be equivilent of $5.68 per gallon.

haha, my cruising speed has dropped about 5mph with gas prices these days (we drive further over the limit then you guys in the states...) and it's amaizing what that will do to gas mileage.

All i know is, when i go for a cruise, i try to make it last as long as possible, and when i want to play, i try and burn the tank as fast as possible.

i usually go 80mph on the way to work because i wake up early, and then i drive 80mph on the way home because i leave late.

sometimes i get "sprited" and wanna get home faster, but i typically am an "80mph driver".

the bimmer LOVES 80mph, good lord. anyone else get 29-30mpg cruising at 80 in their car !?!?

yeah, seems to be a sweet spot. I think it's because the autobahn is theoretically limited to 130kph (~80mph) so they try to make the efficiency there.

If i'm in a rush to get somewhere and go that speed, i get better gas mileage then when i'm just cruising along.... it annoys me.

so i either go around 60mph or 80mph.

and our speed limit here is approximatly 60mph, which is like the biggest kick in the balls if you own a fast car.... My brother in law loves it because he has a badge in his wallet, so he drives my car harder then i do when i let him take it out

I hate Canadian highways. They beg for speed but with no radar detectors allowed and a pathetic 100kph speed limit, they're the most boring roads in the world. Tell me this road couldn't easily handle 130kph.

my tune gets me over 30mpgs hwy easily. I just don't see the need for an unaerodynamic 5.9L V8 in ANY car with the kind of technology out there. Trust me, I LOVE Jeeps, have owned 4 of them myself and like 10 in my immediate family, but they don't ever do well on gas.

haha, i think it should be speed limit sensitive to the time of day...

you got a picture of it at a good time.

For the next time you're in Ontario, don't be afraid to wander to 120kph, they tend to only start going after people going over 120kph, and trust me, there's almost always people going well in excess of that.

I wouldn't recommend 120kph from a GPS standpoint though, then you're taking a risk. set it at about 115 on the GPS and you'll be safe.

Other provinces can get higher speed limits then Southern Ontario. Even when you get to northern Ontario, you can see some 110kph roads (68ish mph)

The one thing i've never figured out, the 401 maintains 100 all the way through toronto, which is a suicidal speed in such a congested city.

Even Germany was pretty dull when we were there a couple of years ago. Most areas are 120kph and many areas near cities are 80kph. We hit only 4 areas of no speed limit and they lasted only 10 or 12 miles. I drive faster for longer periods here in IL than I did in 10 days in Germany.

with all honesty, after all the roads i've driven over the last year and a bit (and that's a lot considering i've been from east to west and back again, and then some...) from windsor to toronto is the most boring road of all of them.

I wish the highway were at least divided so you had some nice scenery on both sides. But no, it couldn't be any flatter and less featureless.

could be worse...

Quote:
Top 20 Worst Venue Names in the United States:
20. The Norva (Norfolk, Virginia)
* Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode, “Mulva!”
19. Crocodile Rock (Allentown, Pennslyvania)
* Don’t ever name your venue after a cheesy Elton John song (ever!).
18. iPayOne Center (San Diego, California)
* Dotcom venue sponsorships often don’t work.
17. Benedum Center (Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania)
* Just sounds boring.
16. Minute Maid Park (Houston, Texas)
* I liked it better when it was Enron FIeld.
15. University of Phoenix Stadium (Glendale, Arizona)
* Online college has nothing to do with City of Phoenix.
14. Petco Park (San Diego, California)
* Goofy name, but it keeps growing on me.
13. Mellon Arena (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)
* Not named for Thornton Melon.
12. Whataburger Field (Corpus Christi, Texas)
* Great burgers, weird name for a stadium.
11. Littlejohn Coliseum (Clemson, South Carolina)
* Venues shouldn’t be named after Robin Hood characters.
10. Quicken Loans Arena (Cleveland, Ohio)
* Corporate naming rights gone wrong.
9. Papa Johns Stadium (Louisville, Kentucky)
* Fast food companies after second worst after dotcom companies.
8. Taco Bell Arena (Boise, Idaho)
* I wonder how often they play the “Doooooooooooooong”?
7. Energy Solutions Center (Salt Lake City, Utah)
* They could jazz up the place with a great nickname like the Power Palace.
6. Dunkin Donuts Center (Providence, Rhode Island)
* Time to make the donuts.
5. Superpages.com Center (Dallas, Texas)
* Drop the .com and it goes from horrible to just plain bad.
4. Glass Bowl Stadium (Toledo, Ohio)
* The best of the worst, my favorite bad name venue.
3. Amway Center (Orlando, Florida)
* For every ticket you buy, you have to sell 6 more to friends.
2. Bagley Field at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium (Greenville, South Carolina)
* The Fick rocks! I’m sure they were all great people, but the combination is horrendous.
1. Jobing.com Arena (Glendale, Arizona)
* The worst possible dotcom name they could put on a venue.
