From where I sit, the fascists are the guys who want to bring you digital IDs, mandated injections, CBDCs, social credit scoring and carbon tracking, and 15-minute cities.

They literally told you you will "own nothing and be happy."

Perhaps you want that.

I am a centrist who left the US for the Continent after 9/11, if it matters. I will even admit to being a former Green Party member. The idea that any legacy news outlet is against the agenda is comical; they are all owned by those pushing the agenda, and they will sell you this agenda using warm fuzzies.

There is much to learn, grasshopper.

Half of all EV drivers want an ICE car next. Ford is losing 100k per ev sale. Rivian and others going bankrupt.

The sad part about this is if the EV roll out had been left alone to free market capitalism and consumer demand it would likely be better off in a couple years than it will with the heavy hand of government pushing it. The tax payers would certainly be better off. Anyone that doesn't under stand that there will be major battery and motor developments. If you think your EV had depreciated now wait till there is a break through on a lighter faster charging and longer range battery.

Is it getting warmer or cooler? Why is it now Climate Change instead of Global Warming? Or is it Global Boiling?

No issue with Apple taking their time and curating the walled garden (though its not for me personally). The issue is when they take their time, get it right, THEN act like they fuckin invented it. THAT is just asinine.

Every country looks out for itself. US policies are mainly driven by corporate interests since they pay for the elections. Companies are doing EV because Tesla’s PE ratio is 9x higher than Toyota’s. There is ‘wealth’ for stockholders when a company sells EVs. It is pure capitalism. If China decides to add an export tax to the US, Walmart, Amazon and most of US retail would be hurt. Inflation would get much worse…you think the huge US military expense is to support other countries interests? It is to keep Europe and others in line and support US interests. The US is 💯 selfish in that regard, as it should be. The US ‘is’ who runs the government - corporations and special interests that pay for the elections. The special interests and corporations are also selfish (as they should be). We should stop blaming the government, and take responsibility as voters…the government is just a reflection of the people. My 2 cents worth.

I call it income redistribution When a politician uses the words: inequality or social justice or climate equity, someone is about to get poorer and someone is about to get richer.

Subsidies are going away. Another huge blow to EV profits. Is there a company that is doing well in the EV market?

If by “redistribution” you mean the exchange of currency for goods, then yes.

If you mean the artificial manipulation of the market to meet some ideology-driven sales pitch, then no.

The only one who will get richer is the one who pays for the election of the politician. I think corporate media has a done a good job making people believe that somehow politicians are going to redistribute wealth from rich to poor…all you need to do is to follow the data.

When in reality, the wealth redistribution goes from the middle and upper middle class to the poor. “Eat the rich” ends up being “screw the working”.

So true. The middle and upper.middle pay for everything, the poor get a little of it, and the really rich end up getting the lions share.

But hey, they promised to forgive student loans and whatever else. Don't worry about where the money has to come from...

The worst part about EV ownership is having to wade through the politics every time you mention you have one. In any case, to add my two cents and try to get back to the original point - I'm glad BMW is making a dedicated M EV but I do also echo others in that I kinda wish they'd differentiate themselves with lighter weight/more dynamics over outright power. Granted, if this is going to be newer tech perhaps they will make the weight penalty smaller, and are just doing four figure horsepower because they can. I'm always keen to see new advances in propulsion and this space has been neat to watch. Before the pitchforks come out, I still have a gas car as well and I'm not suggesting to do away with ICE just cause I think EVs are interesting.

There is no redistribution to the poor. It is from the middle to the rich…the poor are getting poorer. The reason is simple - there is no ‘poor’ people’s lobby. The govt is basically owned by the lobbies and those that fund them…we have a uni-party in the US.
