Some nice stuff here - The Bruichladdich and Uigeadail are favorites. The Bruich has a series that lets you compare 2 barleys x peated/unpeated - interesting, and very tasty (the one pictured is my fav of the 4).
Just got a batch of Glenfarclas smuggled in from Mass. liquor store - both the 12yo, and the 10yo that I haven't tried yet. Gotta figure out how to load pics... |

Tasty. Some whiskey drinkers will be unhappy with it. Too sweet, not high enough proof. It is a delightful luxurious drink with a rich finish and very smooth. If you think of it as an after dinner drink like a good port or cognac you will be happier. Still loving bulleit Rye. Basil Hayden, basil hayden rye.

Definitely a huge fan of craft beer, IPA, etc but my evening go to beverage is always Crown Royal on the rocks with a splash of water. Every single night. Its my guilty pleasure and way less calories than crushing 3-4 beer

My go to is Johnnie Black on the rocks; however figured i'd share this Limited edition run of the Blue Label that was never released because the shipment got stolen en Route to Miami.
I just happen to know some people who know some people who had access to these; stocked myself up with 2 cases (12 total) Edit: Also I'm not a huge tequila fan; but this is definitely something i would recommend for anyone to try. You can sip on it straight on the Rocks; the smell is very deceiving smells strong of tequila however just taste it without smelling. Trust smells worse than it taste. ***** Those that do try it please let me know your feedback. |

I’ll try the Dubliner and add a bottle to my collection. Time for some Plantation 20 year. |

I grabbed an orange off my tree, muddled 5-6 mint leaves from right next to them, then mixed some bitters and a generous helping of Basil Hayden. Shaken well and strained into glass with a wee bit of agave nectar stirred in before sipping

Too much work. Adding ice or seltzer is my limit.

The Barr whiskey has a phenomenal nose in my opinon - has to be the most aromatic whiskey I've ever sniffed. Smells floral / herbal to me, but just really speaks to me. Mouth feel is average in my opinion, certainly not bad, but the nose. I love it just for that. Even though it is Irish and therefore subpar to Scotch. The Glendalough 13 is very easy drinking with the right glass. If you've never had either, I recommend picking up a bottle of the Barr first and give it a good nose before sipping. I have to get another bottle now that I've typed this out. |

Some good hints & info on here - appreciated.
My bar is stocked with J&B, Jameson, Johnnie Walker (Red, Black, Double Black, Spice Road), Cutty Sark, Jack Daniels (Old No.7 as well as a bottle of a nice Master's Distiller), Canadian Club (I really like Canadian Club with Canada Dry Ginger Ale, but that's hard to get here in Germany - or expensive), some Gins (Hendricks, Seagram's, Tanqueray) a lot of Vodkas (Absolut, Russian Standard, Sky, Grey Goose, my favourite - Zarskaya Gold - and some others) as well as a few distinct German "Schnaps" flavours from local Distillers. Oh, and some Havanna Club and Mount Gay rum. Pretty basic, but I'm happy that after a lot of traveling I finally have a neat choice - especially for mixing cocktails & standard long-drinks. I try to avoid beer due to my gout (I can literally feel, when I drank two or more beers the night before), don't drink on weekdays normally, and very limited on the weekends. I come from a vine-area in Germany, but have also cut back on my Rieslings - freakin' gout. |

When you say "the right glass", which glasses do you use/prefer? As you can see in the pic above, I use Riedel Vinum Single Malt Whiskey Glass for most of my whisky drinking. I actually prefer Irish whiskey over Scotch and a majority of my collection is Irish single pot whiskey with a few bottles of Scotch mixed in. Cheers! |

Mine are your basic Glenlivet glasses, tulip shaped with a small stout stem. I like them - I think yours should work quite well too though, and Riedel makes good glasses. Definitely keep an eye out for it! https://www.caskers.com/catalogsearc...re#spirits-tab |
