That`s a 1980 or 81 930 Turbo.

It is an absolutely gorgeous car. This is what I found about it: https://www.elferspot.com/en/car/por...-1980-2461460/

The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport made its debut in 1929 and was a contender in Italian road racing for several years. It featured a supercharged102 hp six that and, while not the fastest competitor, was reliable and had good handling. It won the Mille Miglia endurance race in both 1929 and 1930.

A similar restored 6C 1750 brought half a million USD early in 2024.

Here's a time capsule from the year I turned sixteen years old (1963); the Beach Boys were singing their hit song 409 on the radio about a Chevrolet Impala Super Stock 409. I don't believe they specified the color.

In September of 1963, Donald McDonald of Tucker, Georgia, took delivery of a new '63 Impala 2-door. The total price out the door was $3,872 and he took out a loan with GMAC for $97.65 a month for 36 months.

I'll bet he was lucky to get 10 miles per gallon in his new red Impala. The sticker says he paid $242 for a "Turbo Fire 409"; I'm not sure which engine that is. The 409 came in three states of tune: 4-barrel carb base 340 hp (SAE gross) or upgraded 400 hp or dual 4-barrel 425 hp. Donald got the 2-speed Powerglide automatic, which set him back $199. Power steering was extra, too -- can you imagine what it was like without that?

I was already semi-hooked on those funny foreign cars like Porsche or those boxy BMWs, but it was all academic since my mode of locomotion was walking -- no money. But I would've salivated over a car like Donald's anyway.

Don't knock the older Porsches for the analogue experience. But to each his own, I do love the modern Lotus' too.

We all know how much you love Porsche`s

Obviously you can not compared older 911s to a modern analog sports car, but you can`t beat the analog experience of some older 911s. Oh, and that classic look

Your lotus is an outstanding handling car, but every time I see one, I can`t get past the look, especially the front.

I think you can. In fact, I think a fair number of guys prefer it because it's that perfect blend of classic muscle and modern finesse with German engineering as the icing on the cake. So make no mistake, I'm not saying it's a problem with the car, I'm saying it's a problem with me. Much like CSNY or the Doobie Brothers, by most accounts it's fantastic music, but I'll leave the room before I listen to it.

When I first saw the S2 Elise I thought the same thing about the front. The headlights prominently displayed forward on the front fenders made it look like some sort of bug to me. The rest of the car, however, was pure perfection in my eyes. Regardless of what the Lotus designers say, the design was obviously ripped straight from the C3 Corvette, like a pure copy, but they stuck those headlights on the front fenders instead of hiding them, which gave them that weird look.

Over time I've gotten used to it, and adore it now, but I realize that's probably my own Rose Colored Glasses.

But when it comes to the drive. No Porsche I've ever driven even comes close (and I've driven them all). I'm sure there are multiple reasons for it, chief among them is that none of them move like an 1,875 lb car, Singer be damned. And as you say, to each their own. In fact, as I see it, the main problem with the world is that instead of celebrating the differences in people, creating a vastly more diverse world (and a better one in my eyes), we want to kill each other over them.

Cheers.

It doesn't bother me that you like and enjoy your Lotus. I'm happy for you it's just not for me. Same thing with you that doesn't like Porsche's. There is nothing wrong with that.

I don't condemn people because they think differently or like something different than me. And I definitely don't want to kill anyone because they are different than me

Liking a car (or not) has nothing to do with celebrating other people's differences in the world. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. If we all liked the same thing, this world would be even more upside down than it already is.

This is what I like... There's nothing wrong with that???

Cheers

Early 1960s Jaguar Mark II saloon

In 1962, the Mark II 3.8 was priced at $5,045; automatic was optional at $150 and power steering ran another $130. 2.4 and 3.4 sixes were available in the UK but I believe only the 220 hp 3.8 was sold in the USA.

The walnut trim in the interior is very expensive to restore. The pictured steering wheel is aftermarket.

Great presence with the mid-late 60s European luxury sedans. Jag, RR and MB had great industrial design with proportion, form, lines and details coming together. "Bodywork" and "coachwork" was at its pinnacle in that era. Same with the highest end sports cars of the era.

Yesterday I saw a late 60s Rolls or Bentley dhc on the road and it looked great. I caught a glimpse, mainly from the rear, so was not able to confirm which brand.
