I tryed to clear the water mostly without losing too much colour, and then tryed to give it a bit more colour and depth... that's the best i could do though. I'm betting some of the other members can do a much much better job then me. |

6400ISO captured in raw, converted to JPEG with DxO and i let it control everything, i didn't make any adjustments other then the auto correction which the program did itself
and the moon looks like that because there was a haze over it. and i shrunk the file using the paint program that comes with windows, for some reason when i shrunk it with DxO, it became really noisy and made no sense |

Looks good. I'm sure with more practice I could get things looking better. Either way, it's way better than the un-edited original which was a flat greenish blue color with no depth at all to it. Cloudy water makes for some harsh shooting conditions.

I didn't realize that you use DxO. I love it. Under "Details" there's a "High ISO" setting that you might want to try. I prefer it for most high-ISO shots, but sometimes with certain shots, manual can be better. Dave

normally i take my pictures in raw and JPEG so that i can use them as index's so i know what each CR2 file is, but with the DxO, there really isn't much point because it handles everything so well on it's own. I'll check out the "high-ISO" feature, didn't know it was in there. I Just have to find a program that adds water marks to all my pictures smoothly and easily. Or figure out if DxO will handle that somehow. |

oh wow - that's a great comparison.
the higher ISO, the slightly better IQ, the 51 point focus, sports, color accuracy, 5FPS, higher res screen and build quality are the reasons why i bought the camera - because THAT'S where i need my camera to be best at BUT, i'm secretely in love with the 5D2's friggin HD Video p.s. the ONLY reason i'm a "nikon guy" is because my buddy had one about 5 years ago. IF i would have owned a Canon from the beginning, i'd have a 7D or 5D2 with a couple L lenses. |

But yeah, that D700 has some amaizing qualities But i wouldn't trade my 5D for anything right now.... unless the 5DmkIII came out really soon and perfected all the little issues with the current model. my main issue with the 5D is the focusing system. It's just very out of date. It was out of date when the camera came out. |

anyway, according to canonrumors.com the 5d3 will have a "better" AF system. there isnt much info on it yet but apparently it won't be the one from the 7D. |

if it's an improvement on the 7D autofocus, i'd be stupid not to sell both cameras and get the new version, it would like it even better if it were faster then 3.9 fps too... That's the 2 reasons i bought the 7D to go with my 5D, i figure if you merge the two together for both of their best points, the camera would be near perfect

FWIW...
I think PP on underwater shots is mostly dependent on personal preferences. Do you like the "underwater" look or would you rather have more clarity and even lighting? If you take away too much of the bluish haze, it looks like you just visited the city aquarium. The haze and color are what says "I was there."
