Never thought this would even be something that would annoy me, but people counting out loud at the gym. There was a guy doing bench with his headphones in just yelling out 1,2,3,4 etc. Loud enough where people were stopping their workouts to see WTF was going on.

He probably doesnt have an inside voice... how much was he benching... cause if he was doing 3 plates on ach side. I would not make eye contact

For sure. Don't remember if this was on my list. It doesn't matter if it's loud or quiet. It's annoying. There used to be someone that would come in and count during the exaggerated exhale of each rep. It sounded weird and annoying.

When lifting to failure I will sometimes just say random numbers to confuse the people around me.

Which reminds me of another annoyance... people that pour water over the thermostat and then leave while the steam is still ramping up to suffocating amounts

Also - people that shave in the steam room

I used to do it solo...but they fixed the sensor. Some people took it too far with icecups of water smh

What we do at my gym is to place a wet paper towel to cover thermostat. It gets super hot in matter of minutes. we call it "turbo mode" we usually stay no more than 15 min at the end of the workout and before closing time. otherwise we die.

Yesterday was pretty effing bad. The hack squat machine is right behind the squat rack. I was using the hack squat when a couple of high school bros in basketball gear and flip flops show up to the squat rack. They throw on 2 45's and immediately do the worst warm up sets I've ever seen. One of them (looked like Sideshow Bob covered in acne) is squatting in knock off Jordan Payless Shoes, the other is squatting in his fucking flip flops.

Then they throw on 2 more 45's and continue doing the worst quarter ROM squats I've ever seen. But the icing on the cake was this: in between sets, flip flop mother fucker was either practicing his turnaround fadeaway in the middle of all the squat racks/leg machines, OR, he was practicing his Fortnite dance moves. The funny part is they kept talking like they're such hot shit. They were by far the most arrogant kids I've seen in this gym in the last 8 years
