Charlie recently snagged a flight with the French Air Force

Call sign Perceval:

Origin:French. Meaning:Pierce the vale. Perceval is a mighty masculine name from the Old French expression perce val, meaning “pierce the vale.” The name Perceval first appeared in the 12th-century poem Perceval, the Story of the Grail, famously penned by French poet Chrétien de Troyes.

I think Marko has a point here. Norris can't hold a candle to Hamilton as regards race intelligence and choice of timing/patience to strike + the McLaren is the most competitive car on the grid since several race weekends on end.

Marcoose, AmuroRay and minn19: what do you reckon ?

Q: "Do you have a piece of advice for the people who are listening and watching and who don't always drive very well ?"
Leclerc: "Well, on the road we respect the (traffic) code and on track, well, we drive."

Not sure why you are asking me, but I’ll give my opinion. I agree, I do think he has a point here also, but with a big caveat. Lewis definitely is the smarter/craftier driver. But, I really do wonder if age is starting to take its toll on him and that’s part of the reason we are seeing more inconsistency in his qualifying/race day performance. I know he is in awesome shape, but as everyone knows it is a long brutal season physically on these guys. So in the end, I guess I’m not sure if he could do a seasons long battle against Max and the other younger drivers like he has in the past.

No mystery, but Lando is his own worst enemy. Especially on starts, which looks like he may finally be getting a handle on. If he matures like Max did and becomes a patient smarter driver with that raw talent, he’s going to be quite the force for years to come.

I also think though Oscar is going to mature much quicker and he could be the number one driver at McLaren very soon if Lando doesn’t make the necessary changes to become that elite driver like Max and Lewis etc.

Hamilton genuinely also deserves respect for having the stamina to move on where most other drivers have left F1. He's very wealthy, so could have already retired many moons ago. But he still keeps his inner F1 fire burning and even fans the flames: in times of the going getting tough/tougher, he made the bold decision to leave Mercedes (safe harbor) for Ferrari (uncharted territory). A commitment of additional F1 efforts on-track and off-track in his early 40s. Hats off.

It takes the physical to create the physical. F1 media mostly broadcast F1 drivers on track, in interviews and in some PR footage. OK, there are the glitzy glamour perks and motivating money benefits that come with F1 life, but there is also the preparatory side and sacrifices to be made. Apart from all traveling through time zones away from home, there is also the tough program to stay physically on top of the game and to recover after race weekends. Increasingly draining for the human body as it keeps ageing.

100% agree with all of that. Unfortunately no matter how much you work out and eat right, certain things age related happen. You recover slower, reflexes, eyesight/inner ear balance maybe starts to be a little less perfect/degrades etc etc. Obviously everyone is different, especially when it comes to age related factors such as those.

But, if anyone can do it and beat those factors it definitely could be him. I do still think it is a mistake for both parties for him to move to Ferrari. I just don’t see those cultures meshing well. Plus, I really like Sainz and don’t think he’s realized his full potential. I’m very stunned he didn’t get a seat at a top team, that makes no sense to me.

I get it more from Ferrari’s side (kind of). Lewis will be a bridge to Bearman and I’m guessing they hope Lewis will help them develope their car with all of his experience. Thats if they listen to him and collaborate well together, which is huge IF IMO.

Hamilton comes with a backpack featuring tons of know how and experience - an F1 war machine, arguably one of the best ever gracing the F1 tracks.

It will be a dynamic convergence: he will adapt to Ferrari and Ferrari will adapt to him. If the co-operation results into a competitive car for podium finishes, I trust that he will be seen showering Trento champagne on podiums in 2025. A new chapter, a red track suit and a red car with a special heritage, a new flame, new dynamics, a reset mindset, expectations, additional fanbase - I trust that the Italians will embrace him. From personal life experience, I for one know that most stereotypes about Italian deep-rooted emotions are mostly close to reality - just when you think they're overacting, mostly they ain't. The way "la famiglia" matters, is next level. Hamilton will be warmly welcomed in joining the Ferrari family, newly adopted. So I expect good vibes.

Diego Maradona was Argentinian - but remains a God forever in Naples. Snapped this picture in 2022 in the Naples whereabouts.

Lando is a decent driver in a car that exceeds his abilities. I've said this for a while

Estoril 1992: during the post-race interview, Senna became ad hominem by calling Prost "a coward" . The journalist thanked Senna for his "candid answer".
