Hopefully they can make it much cheaper than the "original" (2005/2006) to compete with the Corvette. Now that aluminum and turbos are mainstream at Ford, seems they could share some costs to keep the MSRP down. They also have some good brakes, magnetic shocks and CRFP parts/procedures developed for the GT350 project. But who knows... |

I'm gonna have to think of trading my 2005 GT.

I LOVE the sound of that flat plane 5.2L… the 'shelby add on' bodywork does nothing for me. Although I like the new 2015 body style and the IRS…
I hope like hell they release that beauty as a crate motor and I'll drop one and a 6spd in an FFR cobra or daytona coupe kit. Mmmmmmmm Actually.. what about an n54 single turbo or n55 dropped in one of those kits? Single side pipe.. barking flames.. turbo spool noises.. all the pop and burble of a proper tune... |

I don't care for the shelbyized (should read bastardized) bodywork.. but that 5.2L mill sounds perfect. Can I have one in crate motor form?
Can I have a base model mustang with one? And some modern style steel wheels or those magnum 500 clones in 18'… now THAT would be just about perfect |

With the fuel rates going down globally, I know most people will not care talking about the fuel economy of this car but its still a sensitive issue. i am curious about the projected mpg of this car as the previous m3 with its high revving engine wasn't that friendly. If anyone gets any news please share.
ps, if it's in my hands, the fuel economy would most of the time be below 10mpg

I agree. Make a car that many people can "afford" and you might actually make money. I still can't understand what the hell Dodge is thinking with the Viper. Their sales a dismal (even with the price drop) compared to the Corvette. They couldn't afford to go to LeMans this year even though they were invited. Why don't they just stick the 6.4L Hemi in it that makes 485hp already and drop the price a further $10-15K? They would sell a ton more cars and it would still have a HP advantage over the Stingray.

Disagree. The Ford Mustand has, is and always will be the # selling Pony car on Earth. I'd say Ford is pretty comfy with that. It isn't built to compete against the Vette but the Camaro.

It does. Horsepower, weight, and MPG (which should be atrocious but who the hell cares) should be revealed shortly.

We are getting the 2.3 Ecoboost and the 5.0 V8 - have a test drive booked with the latter.
We are not getting the Shelby 'upgrade' though. Which is a bit of a shame, drove previous release over here and was 'entertaining' on some of our roads lol. Hopefully the suspension is very tight now as it needs to cope with tight bending narrow roads. You get a lot of car as standard for the price though. Road tax on it is a bit of a nightmare tag, circa £1k first year. |

It is just a Ford but with the Shelby nameplate which speaks volumes.
If rumors are true regarding its 550+/- hp and 3600 lb curb weight, this car should outperform the M4, C7 Z51, C63S in the straights and any track you throw at it...and that's just the base 350. Spend $13k USD more for the R and you should have a Z/28 killer.

So far I'm leaning towards a GT350 with the Tech pack over an M4 as my next purchase. |

Honestly, the 2015 is going to be a stupid mark up item given how few are being made. but the plan is to roll right into the 2016 productions and I would not be surprised to see those selling for MSRP. That's an incredible value and probably the best buy available on the market right now. The tech package gives you a lto of the creature comforts you expect out of a car. I could see this swaying a lot of people from the Audi/BMW drivers - or atl east the ones who are in it for the performance anyway. |
