Not so sharp because it was windy a bit, but I love the capture.

Mark, I don't remember which pins are the ones to tape off, but from what I've heard, it may not be worth it as the AF becomes extremely slow and misses target a lot. I would stick with manual focus unless you have lots of time to wait with patients.

I believe blocking the pins stops the lens from communicating fully what aperture it is at allowing the camera to keep focusing. Don't quote me on that, I read about it a very long time ago, and I might be miss-quoting as a result. But it can be done.

Tried it today and it didn't work. But all I had was scotch tape, which may not be thick enough. Not matter. It's easy enough to MF with live view.

There were some breaks in the clouds coming home today, but I think it's overcast again now.

EDIT: Just checked. Some light showing through the clouds, but no breaks big enough for a shot.

I think electrical tape would work better.

Here's my full moon pic for yesterday.

Since I've only got a 70-200 on 7D, this it 100% crop.

Yeah, very nice shot. I get a kick out of the LCD screens. They look out of place.

Practice your PS skills and clone out the two guys in the image. Shouldn't be hard.
