I am a little bit confused, does that mean that 3 series LCI will not get Drive 8.5 or Drive 9?

Do you use Apple maps? Apple search? Apple is a marketing company, really good, but far from being a top notch technology company.

I think BMW after not supporting Android initially, they saw their mistake and turned that decision around. Now they are basing the whole iDrive platform on Android OS!
"Apple's iPhone took 62% of Q1 global market share for devices costing over $400, with the iPhone 13 lineup driving the sales.
The smartphone market is declining, but Apple's share within that market is growing. It grew from 57% premium market share in Q1 2021 to 62% in Q1 2022."

The screen does look like what I see in the first post where it talks about Idrive 8.5M, but frankly I’ve never been in front of an Idrive 8 screen to even notice a difference. If I could easily check my head unit number I would know for sure, but I’m not aware of a way I’d be able to do it myself without going to a dealer.
Can you tell the latest software version? Mine is 07/2023.33 running on X5M which was produced in August,2023. I was expecting iDrive8.5 coming with the car, but the screen still appears to be the same as iDrive8.0.

Android gets the poors, iPhone gets the BMW crowd. Note: "Premium smartphone market" ...devices costing over $400...

Apple is almost irrelevant on a global market share basis. Android has completely dominated the market for over a decade and its not even close. Apple has pockets of penetration, typically in North America but the world is built for Android. Its not as simple as saying "android gets the poors", rather that competition in the Android space has also driven innovation up and prices down, which is the best of both worlds for the consumer.

Reading is fundamental.
Your right, android has market share. Apple has the profits, high quality products and high quality consumers.
LOL, made my point who buys what
Android innovation, stop pretending

There's a reason Porsche has only supported iOS devices. Very few Porsche owners have Androids.

Actually, PCM has Android Auto built in natively but deactivated because they never worked out a license deal with Google. You can code it on pretty easily if you know what you're doing. As a Porsche owning Android user, I found it super helpful.
