Many people think RPMs are what cause a turbo to spool and it's actually more a function of thermals from high engine load and heat. This is why it's harder to build boost sitting still revving out on a motor compared to hitting the same rpm brake boosting. The load on the motor causes heat. The higher the load, the better the boost is built.

Same goes for BMW TT motors. The further stretched out shift pattern, the better the boost is built and its ability to maintain boost. Also referred to as staying on top of the Chargers.
GT3s don’t have turbos

Correct. I was addressing the reference to the transmission and delayed shift point reasoning.

Absolutely bananas.....

They offered it to me at $289k and I honestly have no interest in a GT3 since I have a 992 Turbo S on the way in April, then an hour later it sells for $310k..... $105k over sticker.

Yeah Autonation for example has mandatory $100k markup on stuff like G wagons and other high end high demand performance vehicles.

G wagons aren't even worth 150k yet alone the 300k they're going for.

There’s a sucker born every minute. When interest rates rise they will have a huge impact on the top of the market

Most of those "Suckers "spending 350 on a car, are not worried about money. Their feeling most likely are not hurt it the car losses 50 G's🤣🤑The sucker is the kid paying over MSRP for a G 80 when they can't afford it from the bat. Then in 4 years it's worth half.

I have a connection for GT3 RS's at MSRP, but you're gonna be on a list. I'm in for one as well, but who knows when I'll actually be called for it.

A few ways to justify it.

1) The gt3 is still a bargain relative to other "supercars."

2) Instant gratification. Life's too short

You'd be surprised how many of these high value cars are mostly financed with small down payments...soon as interest rates go up their buying power will be cut sharply. It's coming.

Just my opinion, but paying above sticker is sucker material. Car salesmen are just having a ball right now, probably high-fiving each other every time they line their pockets with 100% margin on anything above MSRP.

hope you get it.

most of the time 'msrp' guys get put at the back of the list and people willing to pay over sticker cut the line. they might still call you, but only to tell you a spot ahead of you opened up for $xx,xxx

Yup. Been there unfortunately. Same is going to happen with the Z06. I have 3 deposits down. 😉1 place says MSRP. That will most likely never happen when people will be throwing 30-50 over. We shall see

I would generally agree. I had an allocation locked in Cali (only one I could find since Texas is a 2yr wait) at $30k over on my highly spec'd 992 Turbo S and got a call from a local Houston dealer that my former BMW GM moved to and he put a good word in to the GSM there that called me out of the blue and let me know he had a buyer that wanted Euro delivery and was to take delivery in April yet since that's not an option currently he asked if I was going to be interested in getting from here in Houston instead and offer it at only $20k over which is an absolute steal and I would get April delivery and jump the 2yr list since the GM told him I had bought 4 M cars from him in the past 2 yrs.

I jumped on that option instantly and looking forward to it arriving. Even with ADM of $20k it's only $290k, but I can already sell to another porsche dealer or individual for $330k-340k.

My new acquisition needs a friend.

Guy in my team at work ordered his .2 (way before COVID) for $25K above sticker at the time. So given where we are today, what you were offered is in line with reality and then some.

That being said, I still gave him grief for paying over MSRP. Especially after he told me the delivery day was anything but special and he was treated like he was picking up a Chevy truck.

I got a Turbo S from the same dealer, so I'm sure that's something. They got me my allocation pretty quickly too.

I am new to the Porsche scene and have honest appreciation for all things truly fast, but the 992 Turbo S seems to just have this unique draw to me that I didn't have prior for any Porsche. The demand for them seems just flat out dumb compared to prior models.

1. In Atlantic City, NJ. I don't believe MSRP for 1 second. I've heard there is a few thousand people on the list there as well. My best chance is 1 in Florida. My Dad is down there and " knows a guy". We shall see.
