Well getting my CC permit in my new county was a pleasant surprise. I found a certificate from the class I took 6 years ago and went to the sheriffs office over lunch to apply for the carry permit. They printed on site and I walked out in under 15 minutes with my CC permit in hand!

I also picked up a new Remington SR37 Wide. 100 minutes at 1680 degrees and big enough to hold all the stuff I wouldn't want to lose in a fire. Pics to follow later.

Looks decent and good price but nothing revolutionary. Says micro polished nickel boron trigger which is nice if it's any good. Bravo company keymod handgaurd is cool but not free floater like the kmr. Bcm grip and buttstock also. 1:8 twist okay but prefer 1:7 for stabilizing 77gr. Springfield makes good 1911s and lifetime warranty is great, have to see if this falls in an upper tier.

Yeah, it's a nice rifle. Nice to see something going up against the S&W M&P15. From what i can see, the Saint is a hands down winner in that price range.

I've been steadily converting a closet in the new place to be my gun locker. Already reinforced the door frame, have a biometric deadbolt on order for it. Got half of my guns in but I will need to build wall hangers for the rest. Every box I open from the move has ammo in it.

It was a coin flip between these two. The saint was 150 cheaper.

The S&W isn't in the same league really. It's a good gun at 500-600. I got this for 850, it's a solid weapon at this price point. They had some DDs there, which would be a step up from this but that's a big jump.

Since I finished my new SBR build, I decided to convert my carbine length AR to a precision build. So I ditched the Slidefire stock and added the Magpul PRS. I'll be ordering a better optic later on as well. I want to continue the black/grey color scheme, but I'm not exactly sure which way to go yet. I figure I could either get some of the smaller bits cerakoted like the safety levers, bolt catch, etc., or I could order a Kryptek stencil and paint it. Thoughts??

Example of a Kryptek design:

Not a fan. Like mine coated in dirt and lube. Could drag it behind car for that been out of the safe look.

Since NJ is so strict about auto shotguns (no pistol grip, no adjustable stock, and 6 shell limit) I've been considering an alternative to the Benelli M4 I've been planning to buy. Wilson Combat's "CQB Shotgun" (modified Remington 870) is only about $300 less expensive than the M4, but it is already accessorized so I think of it as being at least $1000 less expensive than how my M4 would end up. I hear the quality and recoil is superior in the M4, but is it worth less capacity and traditional grip?

For my tactical shotty I prefer pump action personally. Do those same requirements apply to pumps?

That looks similar to the setup I used to have. I ended up moving to a safe for fire rating and slightly more protection though.

Hmm. I like a nice Mossberg 590 or the 870. I don't know the NJ laws for pump. Must have changed since I moved. Get a stock with extra rounds ready to load or a sleeve with rounds for the stock.

That works. I have a Mossberg 590 short barrel with 9 rounds, pump, and 4 spares in the stock. First pick for bumps in the night.

No. A pump shotgun in NJ can have an adjustable stock, trigger grip, and has no limit on shell capacity. If those limitations weren't in place there would be no discussion as I'd be dead set on the Benelli.
