Yeah I've seen the reports, but how often does that really happen as a percentage of grills getting brushed? There is a risk, but I don't feel the reporting is proportionate to the risk.

I do use what I think is a high quality Weber brush, replace it periodically and look over the grill pretty well after cleaning it. I have tried other types of brushes without bristles and they just don't work as well for me.

(Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself into eating a wire next time I grill.)

I noticed a few wires on my grate a few months back after cleaning. I immediately tossed the brush and cleaned the grates using different type of brush. I was not happy. So I'm 100% done with wire brushes.

Just want to state yes, I 100% support work from home.

Wrong thread? Oh...

Won't hit too many details - kids coming over for dinner after work tonight. Tossed these on around 10:00 - getting about done with the smoke and will wrap in butcher paper and increase the temp. About 5.5 hours in total.

As for the tiny beef rib in the front, this is for something new...instead of pork and beans (which I typically add pork belly) trying a beef and beans. Who knows...may work.

I fell for some spam on FB and got some pads made from fire hose material. Soak it in water as I'm firing up the grill, steams them clean, and since it resists the heat they don't really deteriorate over time. I've been using the first pad for at least a year now. I think the name is grill rescue. The handle has options that can include a metal scraper, but if you keep it clean it's not needed.

Seen these advertised...guess I didn't really believe they worked.

Assume if wire bristles are coming off my grill brush...they're just dropping down in the coals. My grate isn't really greased up with shit that would catch anything. Even BBQ sauce gets dried and crusty

This is true for me to. I burn stuff off pretty good before even reaching for the brush. Mostly brushing ashes off with maybe a little bit of stuff that falls off when brushed.

Now if someone were to take an old crappy brush that is visibly falling apart and run it across a grill grate caked with BBQ sauce and that is only starting to heat up, I could see more potential for an issue.

I bought the grill rescue and it’s ok. It cleaned well but having to get water and keep dipping it is a pain. Really did it in the name of safety.

I needed a new brush so why not avoid the metal bristles. I know it’s 2x the price but did it anyway. Totally annoyed the tip to hold it is 14.95 plus shipping. I called and they said no cannot send 2 witn your 100 dollar purchase of 2 brushes. I’ll just rig something up to hold it.

I like it. I've had mine for at least a year, still on the same fist pad.

Tailgate pizza yesterday on my Napoleon portable grill.

(Sorry don’t feel like fixing sideways pics since pizza is round anyway.)

Today's smoked pulled pork at the wrap. As I write, it's still cooking in the foil.
